Jodie Jackson is leaving her London life, her career and her husband behind. She'd like a chance to turn back the clocks, but she'll settle for some peace and quiet on her brother Bill's houseboat. But from the moment Jodie steps aboard her new home, it's clear she'll struggle to keep herself to herself. If it isn't Marilyn, who cleans for Bill and is under strict instructions to look after Jodie, then it's Ned, the noisy sculptor on the next-door houseboat. Publisher's Summary
Curl up with this hilarious, heartwarming read from the Top 5 best-selling author of The Mum Who Got Her Life Back.
Sometimes life can be bittersweet....
Between tending to the whims of her seven-year-old and the demands of her boss, Viv barely gets a moment to herself. It’s not quite the life she wanted, but she hasn’t run screaming for the hills yet. But then Viv’s husband Andy makes his mid-life crisis her problem. He’s having an affair with his (infuriatingly age-appropriate) colleague, a woman who – unlike Viv – doesn’t put on weight when she so much as glances at a cream cake. Viv suddenly finds herself single, with zero desire to mingle. Should she be mourning the end of life as she knows it, or could this be the perfect chance to put herself first?
When life gives you lemons, lemonade just won’t cut it. Bring on the gin!

Sweet story
The is a story of a woman who finds her strength and independence after her husband decides to leave her. It’s also a story about the importance of friendship and community. The narrator does a good job with the main character of the story, yet not the other characters. At the beginning of the story, I had a difficult time listening to the narrator with other characters but I kept focused on the story. I’m glad a did stick with it because this is a sweet story of perseverance and a happy ending.

Chic lit for The over 40's!!
Fiona Gibson's books are always very down to earth and amusing. It's nice to read a novel that you can relate to if you are of a certain age.......over 40/50! Sometimes funny, sometimes heart breaking, always interesting. I didn't find this one quite as good as some of her others, it was a bit predictable, but still enjoyable despite that. I have read all of her books and would highly recommend all of them I'm already looking forward to her next book.

I did enjoy this book. Really good story. Looked forward to finding out what happened next. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because(and don't hate me) some of the voices really grated on me.
