About this listen

Elizabeth, the cultured young schoolteacher from the East, has braved the Western frontier and spent a year teaching in a one-room schoolhouse. Now, she and Wynn are planning their wedding and their new life together at his outpost in the far North. While Wynn is accustomed to life in the North, Elizabeth is not. Can their love for each other sustain them through a harsh winter, loneliness, and rigors of life without any of the conveniences they're used to?

Book two of the best-selling Canadian West series, now with a popular TV adaptation on The Hallmark Channel.

A book that definitely brings you on an adventure. An adventure I wasn’t quite expecting—but then, what was I expecting? It was just so different to the first book I guess. With so many landscapes, cultures, challenges & triumphs brought in!

I even felt like it had a touch of Disney! With Tarzan & Pocahontas coming to mind.

Cannot wait to continue on in this Canadian West series. Janette Oke is a very talented writer. Loved the When calls the heart movie, and now I’m loving the book series.

Definitely recommend!

Exceeded expectations
