This story had great potential...

The narrator absolutely RUINED this story for me. Because I’d purchased this audiobook, I was determined to finish it, but dear God - it was a struggle. I’d hoped that things would improve, but NOTHING DID. Her voice was beyond annoying! I’ll never listen to another book that she narrates. Such a waste of time...

This was almost good.

I'm not sure how to explain the problem I had with this group of books. For one thing, it was a 4 book boxed set but I remember each to be Book Zero. Only one story line made sense to me. I thought characters would be the same in each book. I read them and I'm still not sure. Overall, I didn't particularly like this set of books.

I didn't enjoy the first story until the twist at the end but every section after that had me glued to every line. could listen to it again.

Actually, 6 books! And to violent.

(As posted on GoodReads) This Super Boxset is actually to series of books by James Hunt: Stolen Omnibus, a set of 3 books, and Death Notes Omnibus, another set of 3 books. I start with the 1st series – The series of 3 books could easily be just one book of the combination. It starts out as a standard murder mystery, but the relationships and factions of characters and occupations soon become tangled and frightening! And, of course, my personal opinion of the political ramifications of the energy company fit in with the main character's. That being said, I can "see" the heinous people and situations created by said company! The individual characters are frighteningly realistic, and the situations in which they find themselves are conceivable and (as I say) frightening. My objection is that overall it's too violent for me. Is such violence in the situation possible? I'm not sure; my primary contact is novels and TV and movies – i.e., fictional settings. I certainly hope that here, in the US, that kind of violence and evil is not common, but I'm realistic! I know that (in reality) there is a lot of violence in society, even in the USA; when a beloved team wins – or LOSES – big, there are riots and lootings and shootings in the street. Much as I would like to think that that kind of violence is unlikely, I can't. Now I have finished the 2nd series of 3: Like the other series by James Hunt, this was far too violent! I am reminded of another popular author of mysteries "Lee Child" of whose books I've read exactly one, and the fact that on every other page multiple people are killed, turned me off totally. I suppose that this is not quite that bad, but I am unlikely to read any of is other books series. Yes, I know that they killings are making a point, but I still can't get the taste out of my mouth. And this series really wasn't nearly as satisfying as the last. I have to say, the characters were still complete, but overall the motivations were lacking. It was okay. But it was still look good series. (less) [edit]

What She Knew-Super Boxset: A Riveting Mystery Series

I didn't like this book because I felt it was just one gun battle after another without a compelling story behind it. It was easy to see the plot before it had even occurred winding down one shootout to the next.
