Publisher's Summary

Morgan Dane’s new client has blood on her hands - and no recollection of what happened - as the #1 Amazon Charts bestselling series continues.

Haley Powell wakes up covered in blood, with no memory of the night before. When she sees a man lying in the backyard, stabbed to death, she has only one terrified thought: What have I done?

Agreeing to take the case as a favor to her PI friend Lincoln Sharp, Morgan must scale a mountain of damning circumstantial and forensic evidence to prove her client innocent. Haley couldn’t appear more guilty: her bloodstained fingerprints are on the murder weapon, and she has no alibi. But Morgan can’t shake the feeling that this shocked young woman has been framed.

Someone out there is hell-bent on sabotaging her defense, targeting Morgan, her partner, and especially Haley. Someone who will stop at nothing - and whose next move will be deadly.

What I’ve Done

Whew this was quite the book! I’ve been looking forward to this books release and the day it happened I received an email from Goodreads saying I’d won a copy. WHAT! I ended up buying the audiobook because I love the narrator of this series! She does a fantastic job bringing the characters and series to life!

I was so sure I knew what really happened and I did partially but I didn’t have it all figured out! Also there are some references to Star Wars ???? that I absolutely did not understand because I’ve never watched those movies. I had a moment of fright about something that happened and I thought the author was going to break my heart. She didn’t, what a relief! If you like books with strong female characters, great mysteries and terrific characters, this series and author is for you!

A fantastic listen!

I want to give this book more than 5*s. It was a great read. The story itself was on the move from the very first page. Intense. Captivating. A must read!

Morgan and her partners, Lance and Sharp are, as always, working their butts off on a case. This one is personal for Sharp. His old friend, former partner, fallen brother’s wife comes to him about her daughter. Haley is being accused of a murder.

The way the story unfolds kept the pages turning. It was controlled chaos, but, the chaos kept the “ooh, I know who did it!” To every chapter. But then I was proven wrong. It’s a crazy, crazy, ride. The details of the story were perfectly layered with some fun and sassiness inside the chaos.

I have to say, I didn’t see the bad guy until it was too late. Which I like.

The fact that Melinda also threw in Star Wars references into the story... was amazing. My inner nerd approves.

This one was a mind bender

Another great story! This time Morgan is defending the daughter of Sharp’s dead best friend...she was found soaked in blood and with the murder weapon. Can the team get the answers before Haley is imprisoned for good? Lots more action in this book; narration portrayal of the characters is excellent...especially that of Morgan’s youngest daughter!

A horrible crime & healing families!

This was a good book all together, but I did find it hard to get through. There were parts that were exciting and you wanted to keep going but then there were parts that kinda dragged. And I just couldn't wait for it to get more exciting again. But all & all pretty good.

Another great Morgan Dane book!

I took a break from this series for a few weeks because the last book was so intense and creepy. But I'm so glad I jumped back in with this one! I listened obsessively for five days. I adore these characters, and the performance is SUPERB. She truly has a unique voice for each character. I was a little disappointed by the ending. The villains' motivation seemed weak. But it was a very enjoyable book! I fully recommend this author.

stop with the stupid voices

it's great except when she does the super annoying, incredibly jarring and completely unnecessary to the narration; voices of the children. makes a decent book only tolerable.

What I have done

As normal, couldn't put this book down. The stories always have a twist to them and keep you guessing all the time. I love the romance thrown in, just right. I thoroughly enjoy listening to her books. The narration was excellent.

Nice story

Morgan has to be the modern age Mary Poppins. She has everything in her tote bag. Shoes, clothes, food, anything you can think of she has in there.

Morgan and Lance has so much bad luck. Every book they get hurt somehow. For a woman with three kids she places herself in danger purposely a lot.

This story was good but was too unbelievable. I liked how this story was mostly about Sharp. We got to know more about his background which was cool. Boon3 was still my favorite.

life truth

it is nice to know that with all the madness all the dangers or the unknown factors that at the end of the day love and family is the key. Again a superb job by the narrator
