Story
Polly Spencer is fine. She’s single, turning 30 and managed to have sex only twice last year (both times with a Swedish banker called Fred), but seriously, she’s fine. Even if she’s still stuck at Posh! magazine writing about royal babies and the chances of finding a plus one to her best friend’s summer wedding are looking worryingly slim. But it’s a New Year, a new leaf and all that. Polly’s determined that over the next 365 days she’ll remember to shave her legs, drink less wine and generally get her s--t together.

Of course the old spark is still there, but that's as far as it goes. Planning her best friend's wedding is bittersweet for Kristen - especially when she meets the best man, Josh Copeland. Story
Evie moved to London to follow her dream of being a screenwriter. But on becoming the assistant to William Jonathan 'call me Monty' Montgomery III at his film and TV agency, she shelved her dreams so she could help others achieve theirs instead. For the past seven years, she's put everything into her job, including her social life and any hope she had of finding a partner. But the agency is on its last legs.
Publisher's Summary
No question about it, there are two little purple lines. I’m pregnant.
After eight years together, Lil Bailey thought she’d already found ‘the one’ - that is, until he dumped her for a blonde 20-something colleague. So she does what any self-respecting singleton would do: swipes right, puts on her best bra and finds herself on a first date with a handsome mountaineer called Max. What’s the worst that can happen?
Well it’s pretty bad actually. First Max ghosts her and then, after weeing on a stick (but mostly her hands), a few weeks later Lil discovers she’s pregnant. She’s single, 31 and living in a thimble-sized flat in London - it’s hardly the happily ever after she was looking for.
Lil’s ready to do the baby thing on her own - it can’t be that hard, right? But she should probably tell Max, if she can track him down. Surely he’s not that Max, the highly eligible, headline-grabbing son of Lord and Lady Rushbrooke, currently trekking up a mountain in South Asia? Oh, maybe he wasn’t ignoring Lil after all....

Absolutely loved this book - especially because the author is also the narrator and I feel that the characters' roles are portrayed in the intended manner. An absolute must read, if you're into the rom-com type novel of today. Highly recommend.

Surprisingly good
Am generally not a fan of author read novels as they are obviously not professional out loud readers.
This book is an exception. The author does a terrific job and I absolutely loved this book. Listened to it in one day.
Great chicklit. Nothing too heavy, but definitely enjoying and relaxing.

I really enjoyed the story and the characters. I loved Lil and her friends. I also like the narration by the author. Seemed real world. Already looking for another book by this author.

Perfect for a road trip
Silly but perfect for a road trip. As a traveler, her dialogue regarding the guy annoys me. if you're not, it's a perfect thing to listen to while on the road through Los Angeles traffic on the way to wine tasting and camping alone with 2 pups 10 days before planning on becoming a single mom by choice.

Cute and Fun!
I really enjoyed the story. I’m on the road a lot and I found myself excited to have to drive my car so that I can continue listening to the story. I was also sad when the story came to an end. Not because the author didn’t do a good job with the ending but the very fact that I wouldn’t be able to continue to experience the main character’s life.
Also, I really enjoyed the way that the author narrated the story!
