About this listen
A hockey romance performed by a full cast including Samantha Brentmoor, Teddy Hamilton, Jason Clarke and Connor Crais!
I swear I only asked one hot hockey-playing friend to give me romance lessons for the week, but three hockey stars volunteered.
The post breakup plan was simple escape from my toxic ex to a vacation rental and stay far away from men.
But thanks to a booking snafu I'm accidentally sharing it with three hot hockey players. One's flirty, one's broody, one's a cheeky Brit, and they're all the most attentive men I've ever met.
After a couple of glasses of champagne, I'm telling them about the contest my ex is running on his dating advice web site. The topic? What makes a great boyfriend, and I want to submit a column.
All three offer to show me every single thing I've been missing in and out of bed.
We make a deal for one week only. It's only for revenge, of course. I work for the other hockey team in the city so it'd be a big mistake to truly get involved with a rival, let alone three.
Even though I melt under their touch. They show me what it means to be adored, cherished and romanced.
But as the week ticks on, what started as revenge fast turns into me giving my heart to three men I can't have. Looks like I'm well and truly pucked.

I also appreciate that she addressed women who havent climaxed, try to force it to happen, fake it and then quickly focus on the man's enjoyment. This is a very prevalent pattern according to sex researchers. So often in romance fiction, it assumed all women orgasm easily or can quickly achieve climax in the hands of one masterful man This isn't how it often is in real life and ignores female sexuality and its emotion, and situation dependent aspects. But then romantic fiction reflects fantasy rather than a realistic expectation.
To my taste this book was more like romance addiction and worshipping the woman, rather than equal communicative give and take. But again this may be just playing out a fantasy that others may fancy but don't actually accept as real.
I also don't like that Lauren seems to include tying up, and slapping (and often anal sex too) as standard to her plots- which many women don't like at all. At least she didn't have all the dominance and controlling stuff of her last book though.
Finally, the narration was mostly good. The three men were good- though Jason's British vocals drifted a bit. Samantha was Ok enough but I do find her a bit exaggerated.
I find the best narrators act their feelings through their vocal tones and expression- rather than just reporting what their character was feeling. I think the men in this audiobook mostly did that, Samantha did it sometimes. However, she often just reported what the woman was feeling like an outside commentator- or varied that with an OMG type of variation to suggest a stronger reaction.
The male narrators, in contrast, reflected through moans, lowered purring, softer voices etc, that the characters were really immersed in what they were feeling.
Better than former one in this series. More relationship.
