About this listen

War and Peace is one of the greatest monuments in world literature. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Napoleonic Wars, it examines the relationship between the individual and the relentless march of history. Here are the universal themes of love and hate, ambition and despair, youth and age, expressed with a swirling vitality which makes the story as accessible today as it was when it was first published in 1869.

A fantastic narration of a wonderful story. Despite being quite an epic story with many, many characters to follow, this version of War and Peace was a very enjoyable listen; the narrator made each character its own, which assisted greatly in following each one and the story. I'm so pleased I tried it. You will be too. :) Aside from the narration, there truly are some incredible moments and prose through this book. Wonderful.
