About this listen

Everyone has secrets.

YouTube baking sensation April Masterson knows the secret to the perfect gooey brownies. Or how to make key lime squares that will melt in your mouth. But if you keep watching her offline, you may find out some other secrets about April; secrets she’d rather you didn’t know - like where did her son go when he snuck out of the house? What was she doing with the local soccer coach behind fogged windows? And what’s buried in her backyard?

Everyone has secrets. Some are worse than others. April’s secrets are enough to destroy her. I’ll make sure of that.

If u find the first part of the book a bit tedious hang in there, it’s a great finish! That said, as with the only other book I’ve read from this author, the final twist is a bit of a stretch.

Enjoyed

Freida's books are not the best in the world, but they sure are entertaining and I almost never guess the ending. Another great read, easy read. I like the narrator too. Overall, I would recommend this book to any Freida fan.

Another great Freida book

Possibly one of Frieda McFadden's better books, since most of her books are so far fatched. The characters were interesting and the suspense riveting.
The narrator is OK. I found her narration of Julie in the second part of the book really annoying and cringe.

Loved the twist

I was a little confused with the epilogue and how April’s mother said she killed her…. But when she was in the home talking to the cop and he told her April was going to jail and the mum was confused… I gasped so loud when I made the connection

What an ending!

Freida McFadden psychological thrillers are such twisty easy reads. This one was ok but definitely my least favourite Freida I’ve ever read. It’s about a housewife April who has a cooking YouTube channel, who starts getting anonymous threatening texts. TBH kind of like a boring episode of Desperate Housewives. It was ok, the twist at the end wasn’t as shocking as Frieda’s twists usually are either but still an entertaining read.
