A different departure to anything she’s written previously and I went into this book with no knowledge of the topic but Lynette Noni could write a lunch order on a paper bag and I’d still want to read it over and over again. I’m not gonna give anything away but read it.

Enjoyable story, easy enough to listen to
Very different to the authors usual genre
A little bit predictable
Noticed a few errors in what was meant to be Australian terminology such as “ER” rather than ‘ED’ and “college” rather than ‘university’, but that’s nit picking and can understand they are universal terms to avoid confusion.
I liked that it focused on the struggles of mental health, trauma, protecting friends and family and was inclusive of all identities in a respectful positive way.

Lynette Noni could write anything and I’d love it! This genre shift did not disappoint, what can’t she do?! It was such an anxiety inducing read at times, filled with adventure and the slow burn longing had me giggling and kicking my feet towards the end. Fantastic read if you love a little romantic YA

This one is very YA and quite predictable. it was all a bit too tidy and simple for my liking. The Character names were also a bit cringe with Xander Rune, Charlie Hart, best friend Ember and Scarlet. I love Lynette Noni but this one just didnt do it for me. I'm probably not the right audience for this book to be honest.
