Victor er en lille abe, der bor ude i junglen. Victor kan kun lide appelsiner, og han gider slet ikke smage noget nyt. Desværre løber han en dag tør for appelsiner! Nu må Victor alene ud i junglen og lede efter noget andet at spise. Den selvlærte illustrator og forfatter Jan Mogensen debuterede i 1981 med billedbogen "Har du sovet godt, Bamse?", og har siden da illustreret en lang række klassikere fra H. C. Andersen til Bjarne Reuter. Han er også kendt for Pixi-samlinger som "Pixi Alfabetet" (2011) og "Pixi julekalender" (2012). Jan Mogensen modtog i 1982 Burg-Wissem prisen for sin debutbog, og har senere modtaget Kulturministeriets Illustratorpris i 1985, Kulturministeriets Initiativpræmie i 1986 og 1988, samt Fortællefantordenen i 2001.
