Alina Kovelenko travels to Seattle to work on a project at the University of Washington. While there she needs to track down her cousin and his wife who have been unresponsive from his parents in Ukraine. She meets Brett Jorgensen who shares her hobby, sailing. Brett recently retired from the FBI, and he agrees to help her. In their quest they discover a sinister Russian group engaged in drugs, human trafficking, mind control drugs, and espionage. With time not on their side to wait for the police the pair must try to expose the criminals and rescue Alina's cousin and wife before it is too late.
