Prima indagine di Duca Lamberti. Nella periferia milanese una giovane commessa viene trovata morta. Duca Lamberti, un ex medico radiato dall’Ordine per aver aiutato un’anziana paziente a morire, dopo tre anni trascorsi in carcere ha bisogno di lavorare. Accetta così di prendersi cura del figlio alcolizzato di un ricco imprenditore, Pietro Auseri, e di aiutarlo a disintossicarsi. Le due vicende si intrecciano quando Lamberti scopre che il giovane si è dato all’alcol poiché si ritiene colpevole della morte della ragazza ed entra nell’indagine condotta dal commissario Carrua.
