Publisher's Summary

Book 49 in the best-selling In Death series. Eve Dallas takes on a serial killer dispensing their own form of justice.

When a family man is tortured, killed and left in front of his family home for all the world to see, Eve Dallas knows she is on the hunt for a particularly dangerous killer.

But death uncovers secrets, and the killer leaves a note revealing the victim to be far from the family man he appears. As Eve scrambles to find out what she can to link victim and killer, another body is found. Another man with a dark and murky past.

The race is on before the killer strikes again, but Eve must wrestle with her demons and her conscience as she decides whether she really wants to protect men who probably deserve everything they get....

Very enjoyable in audible.

2023 AUDIBLE REVIEW
Very enjoyable in audible.
Though the people killed are not nice, I am leaning towards Eve’s view of a better sentence being a long life in a cage. I do hope they get all those rapists put in prison. I expect with Nadine on the case it will happen.
UPDATED BOOK REVIEW 2021
Absolutely entertaining and enjoyable read.
Still a fantastic read for me.
My original review pretty much stands good for this story.
I have owned most of these books, the first half mainly, in paperback for years and have read the ones since through my library. But I now have them all in eBook format, so I am rereading this series once again in order, updating and replacing missing reviews.
Even knowing what is in the future and what is going to happen, it is absolutely no hardship to reread this series and I am really enjoying how all the characters are growing and changing.
I just think it may be time for something really happy to happen. An engagement, a wedding, just something really human and normal.
There is so much sadness in this series at times, always due to the distasteful nature of the human beast, or beasts, that our gang have to deal with.
I have noticed that whoever is editing these books, is not picking up on certain things.
ORIGINAL REVIEW
Once again I could not put down a book in this series. Absolutely entertaining and enjoyable read.
I felt for Lady Justice with her first victim, due to what a completely miserable excuse for a human being he was but when she turned things personal, I lost my respect for her and she became just another killer out for their own purposes.
I loved riding along with Eve, Peabody and the team as they worked hard to bring her down. The fact Eve knew in her gut who the killer was and had to struggle hard to find evidence of proof made this such a good read.
The fun background with everything else going on around this murder case was pure Eve Dallas and Roarke.
It does help if you know this series but this is still a good read in its own right.
I first read this through my library but have also bought it in eBook format.

Another winner🏆

I really enjoyed this book. It was exciting yet enjoyable as always. It would be great if there could be two readers playing different parts. Susan is brilliant, but with so.many different characters in each book, it can be confusing at times. It was wonderful how some reference of normality is woven into each book with Mavis, Bella, Leonardo and all the other characters.

#MeToo

I applaud Nora Roberts’ take on #MeToo
Thanks for making it real, whilst also illustrating the beautiful men who throw these defective individuals into shade.
But I was wondering what had happened in her antagonist’s life that might have led to her breakdown. Is it the persistence of multigenerational abuse? Or is she just nuts? Please discuss. And thank you.
