I fled Boston and my cheating jerk of an ex with $300 and a lip gloss in my pocket. Waking up the next day in Burlington, Vermont, with a crick in my back and a frozen ass wasn't exactly in the plan. If there was one. Which there wasn't. Story of my life.

Three hours later and I've been hired as temporary help in the local veterinary and grooming clinic, which is kind of impressive since I know zip about animals and even less about grooming. But one thing I do know - I'm crushing hard on the sexy, absentminded vet for whom I work.

My life is a hot mess. The last thing I need is another relationship. Emmett pushes all my buttons, but he isn't out. He's overwhelmed with a business to run and a son to look after and the kind of domestic life I never thought I wanted.

I loved this story. It had some genuine laughs, and kept me wanting to listen. Ok, so we gotta talk about the narration. Gary Furlong was great as usual. I normally like Iggy Toma, he's got a distinct voice that makes the characters come alive. But the man cannot do a Kiwi accent to save his life. I'm sorry, but it was terrible. He didn't even keep the accent straight, it sometimes drifted British, sometimes South African, not once was it Kiwi like the character was supposed to be. It took me out of the story. The upside though was whenever I heard it, right up until the end, it gave me a laugh because of just how bad it was.

Loved the story. The highs and lows. The drama. I really like Iggy Toma as a Narrator. But felt they should have stuck with one narrator. In this case Gary Furlong did the NZ accent better. Assuming he is a Kiwi. Iggy's Kiwi accent sounded like South African instead. Or they could have used Iggy for Emmett and Gary for Ty. Overall still thoroughly enjoyed the story.

Wonderful story, I enjoyed listening immensely. Jay Hogan did an amazing job, I love his voice, he does an excellent job.
This is my second Jay Hogan book and I’ve loved how the story is put together, the character build ect. I enjoy the humour, the snark, everything really.
Well done.

The actors ' voices were wrong. One was too old for one of the characters. The other's attempt at a New Zealand accent were... dismal. It's a shame.
