Publisher's Summary

From 2011 up until his death at the end of 2016, the inimitable AA Gill reigned supreme as Uncle Dysfunctional, Esquire's resident advice columnist. In this raffish, hilarious, scathing yet often surprisingly humane collection, Gill applies his unmatched wit to the largest and smallest issues of our time. Finally the advice we've all been looking for!

I dived into this having never heard of Uncle Dysfunctional and after listening to it I am now a huge fan! His advice is at times ridiculous and at others brutally honest, but always hilarious! This paired with the voice and comedic timing of Alexander Armstrong is brought to life perfectly. Each letter of advice is self-contained but they are smartly assembled together to add more wit, a slight narrative, and even a thought provoking ending. All in all a lighthearted good laugh!

My Favourite Uncle

Laugh out loud funny. I caught myself guffawing out loud at the gym in the middle of a particularly gruelling spiny on the cross trainer! I almost fell off

Absolute Gold-Dust

This book is a gem, and has that rare quality of standing up to repeated listening.

AA Gill's Agony Uncle dispenses his unique mixture of insight, opinions and wit with such panache that you will be laughing out loud.

But it's not all risque humour and bluntness; for some of the problems sent in he comes up with realistic and workable, if a bit left field, solutions.

The uncle you always wished you'd had when growing up. Masterfully read by Alexander Armstrong. Highly recommended...

Quirky, funny little time filler.

A good, funny little time filler whether your at the airport, waiting at the train station or on your daily commute.
Outstanding narration by A. Armstrong, very emotive and full of it.
