It's unbearable... The bird's perch is swinging to and fro and hitting me on the nose. I can see my eye in its little mirror. Unbearably weird... You have the foulest feet ever. There are flies for lunch. A goat swallows your opal. And you have lived before.©1985 Lockley Lodge Pty Ltd (P)2005 Bolinda Publishing Pty Ltd. Editorial reviews

Another in the series for young audiences of Paul Jennings’s "Un" books (Unreal, Unbelieveable, , etc.), whose stories inspired episodes for the Australian children’s television shows Round The Twist and Driven Crazy. Australian character actor Stig Wemyss performs eight imaginative short stories featuring a wide array of unusual behavior - for example, wearing unwashed socks for three months, wearing a birdcage on one’s head, and hypnotizing a friend because it worked on chickens - that turn, through humorous twists, into tales guaranteed to delight.

Critic Reviews

"A further collection of weird and wacky tales with surprise endings from Australia's best selling children's author. Packed with laughs, gasps and shocks, this will be a sure fire hit with readers aged from six to 60." (Magpies Magazine)

I love all of Paul Jennings books of this type. But the narrators voice is annoying. And it sounds like it has been transposed; like it has been sped up and has an artificial tremor. It would be good if they were redone with narrator Francis Greenslade, with a better quality sound. I gave the Paul Jennings books with that narrator five stars

Great stories, annoying narrator
