Excellent!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book brings to life an aspect of the birth of Christ that isn't discussed much - what Mary went through in a personal sense, her perspective.

What other book might you compare Unafraid: Mary to and why?

The others by Francine Rivers on Rahab, Ruth, etc. Same great quality.

What does Barbara Rosenblat bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her tone of voice and inflection brings energy and life to the story. Turns a biography into a much more real-life feel.

Did you not cry?

I finished this recorded audiobook while driving and I weeped with tears of repentance. I praised Jesus for his mercy and compassion. Oh, how I believe that anyone who listens will give their lives to Christ. What a compelling story of the life of Jesus. Although a short read, the message was clear, excellent performance, moments of anger, frustration;!where inverted at the right moments in the book.
If you still do not believe Jesus is the messiah and the Son of God after this read, then I pray for your salvation.

The Heart of Mary

I cannot say enough good things about this book and other Lineage of Grace books. I entered the world of Christian fictiously very cautiously. It does hold true to the framework of the Bible. But it gives you "a" possibility. Insight of what it must have been like to be Mary. To see it all unfold from her eyes. Parts I previously glossed over in the Bible that know stand out to me thinking of it from her perspective is a common scenario now. I love thinking about her role more closely now.

Not my favorite in the series

The Mary character was depicted as too weak. Narrator made Mary's conversations sound weak and whiney.

Intimate perspective

This intimate perspective has greatly influenced my biblical understanding. Francine Rivers has done it again - once you start the story, you won't want to stop. Honestly, it never occurred to me that Mary and Joseph may have been taunted by the devil in his effort to destroy God's plan - wow. Love this story and really appreciate the talented narrator who was able to bring such emotion and realism.

A reflective account of Mary

Francine Rivers has made the character of Mary come alive in a very accurate account of the life of Jesus. As a mother, I was able to relate to the feelings that Mary possibly experienced in this heart rendering poignant novel.
