Publisher's Summary

A powerful love story from multi-million-copy best-selling author Nicholas Sparks, Two by Two is a story of heartbreak, strength and unconditional love.

From the author of The Notebook and See Me comes a beautiful story that will capture your heart.

Sometimes the end is just the beginning....

Russell Green has it all: a loving family, a successful career and a beautiful house. But underneath his seemingly perfect world, cracks are beginning to appear...and no one is more surprised than Russ when the life he took for granted is turned upside down.

Finding himself single-handedly caring for his young daughter while trying to launch his own business, the only thing Russ knows is that he must shelter his little girl from the consequences of these changes.

As Russ embarks on this daunting and unexpected new chapter of his life, a chance encounter will challenge him to find a happiness beyond anything he could ever have imagined.

Not bad

The story was good but the constant background music was very distracting, annoying and unnecessary

The backing music killed it for me

As with most of Nicholas Sparks’ books, I enjoyed this story, the characters and the plot twists. The backing music, the faux-movie sound effects, though, were awful. I wish they either weren’t there or were toned down drastically. At best, they were distracting from the story and at their worst moments, they totally destroyed the vibe and tone of what was occurring. Throughout the first 20 chapters they built suspense when there wasn’t meant to be suspense and left me continually wondering what on earth the musician was thinking when composing this. Thankfully after chapter 20 it seemed that the musician got bored and there were plenty more “no music” gaps which meant it was much easier to simply concentrate on the story and narration. As someone who works with audio production and story writing, I felt the performance (not narration) was very poor and the composer has a lot to learn! CF.

Music

Loved the story, but can we ditch the background music/sounds. I think it is distracting and detracts from the story. Just let the story work it’s magic.

The background music ….

I’m sure this would be a great read/listen, but the background music is so distracting that I can’t get beyond the first few chapters.
