Story
Cade Winters has been running from his overbearing father for 15 years. Even he admits his method of escape was extreme, though. But joining the military, eventually being recruited into the elite Delta Force and then by a black ops firm kept him busy at the far ends of the earth, which was almost far enough away from his family and the woman he tried to love but who seemed hell bent on working for her brother's security firm, even if it meant getting herself killed.

Publisher's Summary
The last thing Slade wants is to be in charge of anyone but himself, and his dog Lola, because the military taught him the high price of being in command. Dave Logan is on his honeymoon though, and leaves him right where he doesn't want to be. Just as he knew it would, the hard-won peace Slade finally found in his life quickly flies out the window, and things go from bad to worse when a child is kidnapped and Deep Six Security is on the verge of losing its biggest security contract on his watch.
With no leads in the case, Slade is desperate, so when the head of hotel security, small but feisty Taylor Kincaid, gets fired over the incident, he thinks hiring her to help him find the boy is smart. As the situation unravels though, he sees Taylor could be in just as much danger as the missing child. When a terrorist plot is added into the mix, Slade is at the end of his rope and has some tough choices to make fast. Does he save the only woman he's even considered letting himself love in a very long time? Does he save the child who is the key to keeping their contract? Or does he focus on saving the entire state before it's too late and they all die?

unbelievable
the action I love Slade was a lovable asshole but the heroine was to stupid to be even likable. A well educated young woman even one in experienced would not allow herself to be fooled into believing such behavior was normal .Even if she had never experienced sex the world is full of information. I would like the author to respect the characters spend more time developing loving lusty relationship less time on just lust.

Hot, Hot, Hot- Slade and Taylor
Would you consider the audio edition of Twisted Honor to be better than the print version?
Becky McGraw writes an excellent story! The characters are engaging and interesting multi-dimensioal people with their own back stories and issues. I liked Slade when he was introduced in other stories and he has become even more interesting. The chemistry between Slade and Taylor is off the charts - and Taylor sure has issues in this area! And, let's not forget Lola and Buddy! I laughed out loud when Slade and Buddy had their first few run ins at Taylor's house! This book is also an excellent introduction to a number of the men of Deep Six Security.
What does Matt Haynes bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Matt Haynes has a very smooth voice that flows like honey throughout this story. He provides great variations for the various characters. He does a great job!

Allow Yourself to fully heal
Matt Haynes delivered Slade and Taylor story with humor, depth, and precision. I enjoyed the book reading it on my own but hearing him deliver the accents and attitudes of the snobbish and shoot even the dogs were on point.
Making the action feel in the moment as well as the emotional struggle in which Slade dealt with after the explosion in Afghanistan is what drew me in. He was protrayed as a fun loving guy from the outside but once you got deep within Slade and brought his story to life you seen how much he hid behind Lola and how closed off he really was. It was kind of heartbreaking but the therapy helped and so did almost losing what he didn't want or know how to love.
It is funny how he gave Dave grief but ended up being so much like him in the end outside of the hiring of the women. These men of Deep Six are stubborn but know when to hold them as well as know when to put it all on the line and save the freaking city. Security at an entirely different level.

Love Deep Six Series
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If you love those stories that have a little bit of everything in them then you need to try this series. The Deep Six series has super hot alpha men, strong sassy women, adventure, fun, hot sex and so much more.
What did you like best about this story?
Slade and Lola have been a team since his military days. There is just something about a man and his dog that have an instant appeal. When Dave leaves for his honeymoon and leaves Slade in charge of Deep Six Security with no way to communicate with him it is just the tinder that Slades needs to make some changes that have been a long time coming and his first order of business is to hire some more help.
Add to the mix the beautiful Taylor who was head of security for a first class hotel, until she was fired for something that she had no control over. Taylor is brought into Deep Six Security and has to prove that she is tough enough to deal with the male egos that are already there. Then there are Lola and Buddy (a couple of really fun sub-characters with furry personalities) help to add some pretty intense depth to things and the twists and turns that are intertwined into the story will keep you enthralled.
There are so many things to like about this book that I'm not sure where to begin. Becky McGraw has a way of putting a spin on a story that has your attention captured from the very beginning until the story is over.
This is a fast paced romance with some intense characters, hot alpha men, strong sassy women and canines with attitude.
What does Matt Haynes bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I love listening to audio books because I always find something that I missed when I read the book myself, or maybe something I just don't remember. I'm not sure if it is the way the narrator puts more inflection into the story or voices, but it makes it very fun to listen to.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I really didn't have an extreme reaction, but I have to say I loved the way the epilogue in this story is done. Having Buddy and Lola come to life really makes the end of the story fun.

Uneven Twisted Plot - Cute Dogs
At first Slade appeared to be a sympathetic character, a decorated veteran with emotional issues and a wonderful dog ex-military dog named Lola. I was impressed that he had sought out counseling to deal with his PTSD, rather than ignore the problem.
Taylor, a security expert was an intelligent yet impulsive woman with a split personality. She was trained to protect others but allowed herself in be pressured into a BDSM dynamic with a former boyfriend who physically and sexually abused her for years, then pimped her out to another man who did the same.
Note: it was refreshing that this sadistic "lifestyle" was exposed as criminal and inhumane behavior but surprising to me since Logan (book 1) enjoyed hitting his girlfriend Susan. Evidently the author believes that some physical violence is perfectly acceptable in a sexual relationship, which leads to the question "how much is okay"?
Taylor was a heartbreakingly sad and pathetic woman, so desperate for male approval that she was willing to have casual sex with Slade in spite of his condescending, disrespectful actions. Convinced that she was worthless, Taylor was not capable of having a healthy, loving relationship with Slade or any man, so no happy ending was possible.
Twisted Honor could have been an exception novel - it was well written with moments of humor and suspense - if Slade had allowed Taylor the time and space to recover from her traumatic past, rather than take advantage of her vulnerable state. Slade was more caring and patient with Lola and Taylor's dog Buddy than poor Taylor.
This series would be entertaining if the women were strong and confident and the men were loving and supportive, not violent and controlling.

just as good as the first one
Would you listen to Twisted Honor again? Why?
Without a doubt. because it was THAT good.
What did you like best about this story?
It's an extremely well written, well thought out plot with engaging characters. This novel is strictly top notch. I loved how Slade took Taylor "under his wing" so tenderly when he found out about her "past experience with sex"
Which character – as performed by Matt Haynes – was your favorite?
Slade, of course. Matt Haynes made him come alive. Super sexy voice.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
absolutely
Any additional comments?
I have a few favorite authors, but they include women who can truly create a story. No fluff, no drivel, no superfluous verbiage. They are masters of the written word. I'm not sure how I missed reading anything Becky McGraw authored for so long. She's made it to my top three list.
