About this listen

Lexi is a survivor; she has spent her whole life moving from one abusive foster home to the next, until she decided to take charge of her own life. Living in abandoned buildings, couch surfing, and working at a strip clubs were a huge improvement on what she had before. All she needs is enough money to feed herself, finish high school, and hopefully go to college.

She has a plan. That is until she is caught and sent to live with a strange foster family upstate.

Rafferty King was forced like Lexi to this new foster home, but he fits in better. And that's saying something for a total misfit. Hot as hell and getting into fights, while ignoring her existence. Whatever.

Then there are the twins Ranger and Maverick, also known as "The joker and The Loner". They know who she is and give her the new-girl treatment with which she is all too familiar.

And how can a history teacher look that hot? There should be rules against that kind of thing. But there is something about Galen Donovani that has Lexi feeling safe when he is near. While everyone else avoids him.

What the hell is going on in the state of Washington? And why are there so many wolves roaming at Port Willow High?

The narration of this was just as good as the storyline. Lexi is a bad-ass female character who does what she wants and does everything she can to protect herself. The concept of multiple partners scares her to begin with when she doesn't know how everyone feels in the relationship, but when she is reassured, she doesn't let anyone tell her how to love and live life. She is stubborn, but not enough to get herself killed, and tells someone when they are being an asshole. The title of the book is mainly based on the last 15 minutes of the book but what Lexi is is not actually revealed in this audiobook and definitely leaves you with questions you didn't have before. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has read the blurb and thinks they will like it. I hope you find you love it just as much as I do. Enjoy!

I liked Lexi and Raff. I would have loved it if it was just them. I'm a fan of why choose, but when the characters are likable and most of these guys weren't. I also prefer my heroines to have more agency when the harem begins. And I felt like Lexi lost a lot of hers. She was such a spitfire at the beginning.
I liked the sibling bond between Lexi and Josh.
But this was too similar to other books I've read. Namely, Twilight, and ShadowHunters and the TV shows True Blood and Wolf Lake. And not in a good way. It came across as contrived.
I should have checked if this was a standalone or series, I might not have listened to it if I knew it was a series. It took too long for the meat of the plot to kick in.

Feels too similar to a mish mash of other things

Next to no action but still I found the character drama gripping and exciting, and the lore intriguing and logical, and the romance hot and steamy. So many almosts and 'do they, don't they' moments. There are so many named background characters that I found it hard to keep track of who was who on my first listen and I am keen for more depth in the guys. Some answers about her heratige would be nice too as there are next to no answers on that front.
Also cliffhanger ending!
If you liked this then I'd recommend Becoming by Dekota Brown .... very similar relationship set up.

A gripping romance drama.

The female narrator made it difficult to listen to this book but the reviews were good so I tried a second time… only to be disappointed by the storyline. I’ve given up and deleted other free books so it wasn’t that bad.

I persisted with this book
