Great story & narration. Few too many characters

Excellent plot - I’m usually able to predict the twists in tales but this one had a few surprises. And the narration is superb! His voice for kids was a bit weird though. The only real issue for me was the sheer number of characters to keep up with. I ended up needing crib notes. Overall, well worth listening to.

Started out well...

The story started out quite promisingly! The prose wasn't terrible and the narration was good too. But as it went on it just got progressively less plausible, until, at the end, I'm afraid to say it just went completely and absurdly off the rails...
But it's listenable and entertaining if you're like me and relish a bit of B grade now and again...

Bits of it were good,…

It was a bit rambling and loose at the beginning, hard to connect the various characters. The middle part was quite interesting and gripping.
The end was ridiculous and absurd. Pity.

Hard to enjoy and very drawn out.

I found this book was full of too many characters and too many inane conversations. The idea was good but it was poorly executed.
I persisted to 58 chapters as I had nothing else to listen to but I just can’t listen anymore. I am so bored.
