About this listen
Over the course of a steamy and tense afternoon, 12 jurors deliberate the fate of a 19-year-old boy alleged to have murdered his own father. A seemingly open and shut case turns complicated, igniting passions and hidden prejudices.
This audio also includes an interview with Reginald Rose's widow, Ellen, in which she talks about how her late husband came to write the original teleplay version of Twelve Angry Men. ©1984 Reginald Rose (P)2005 L.A. Theatre WorksCritic Reviews

"This tidy portrait of clashing social attitudes in a jury room definitely creaks with age. But somehow the creaks begin to sound like soothing music, a siren song from a period of American drama when personalities were drawn in clean lines, the moral was unmistakable, and the elements of a plot clicked together like a jigsaw puzzle without a single missing piece." (The New York Times)
The underlying theme of justice here is brilliant. The characters are so easy to follow along with along the audible and once again make you feel as though you are sitting at the jury table deliberating with them.
It is truly insane ! I was getting angry, I was getting laughs, I was wanting to get my point across whilst taking every thing.
I also have ADHD and PTSD and use audible to manage my symptoms. So this was the perfect audible to listen to.
Also any theatre lovers of texts you must listen to the LA theatre works version on audible of Twelve Angry Man by Reginald Rose.
True mastermind of seeing everyday situations. I never knew Reginald himself was put in the position to be a jury or in real life as described in audible interview after the play text.
That amazes me truly.
Reginald rose at his best
