Publisher's Summary

I lived in the dark for three years. My whole world revolved around the whims and happiness of three men. It was just a trip into the forbidden. A way out of a bad situation and forward into nothingness.

Quin, with his easy smile and charming good looks. He was always there for me...until he wasn't.

Smith and his dispassionate attention. He was never there for me and he never regretted it.

Bric, the one who listened, but only to himself. Self-absorbed, self-obsessed, and self-serving. He was never the one I wanted.

And now he might be the only one I have left.

It was good while it lasted, I guess. But it could've been so much more. It could've been so much better.

And that's why I'm turning back.

Includes a special bonus note read by the author.

Didn't love Quinn

I wanted to love this one but just couldn't. It could have been the character or the narrator, but I've encountered less whining in teenage girls than Quinn exhibited. However, I can't wait for Bric's book. Even though his character may not have been sterling, Quinn's sanctimonious rigidity makes Bric the more sympathetic character.

God I love JA Huss books! I love that they are so outside the normal pattern for romance, I love her writing style, I always love how awesomely different her characters are and last but not least I love EOBS!!! Yes, that was a lot of "I love" for one review but hey it's how I feel!

Book 2 in the Turning series was even better than book 1 IMHO. This book hit a lot of my favorite topics in books so it was completely up my alley! While we have less of Smith and his eccentricities we get to see different sides of both Quin and Bric and we get the details of the infamous Rochelle! I was torn through out this book because I couldn't decide how I wanted things to end up. Part of me kinda wanted things to do a 180 and not end up the way we all knew it would because hey it's a JA Huss book... you never know she could have made you believe one thing and then BOOM surprise twist. But I was happy with the non-surprising ending because that mean BRIC is next!!! I can't wait!

The narration is great by all 3 narrators. I absolutely adore that she keeps the same narrator for every character and they always get their own voice. It may have just been me but I think Sebastian York was different in this book then he normally is. He seemed to have more range between characters and I loved it. In the very beginning I actually had to look at the Audiobook details because while I knew it was him he was just different enough to make me question myself. Loved it!!!

Quinn Love Story

Rochelle is in love with Quinn. Biric is also in the mix. I don’t know if I like this story as much as the first one. I still don’t know why Rochelle lifted. It didn’t click with me. The story line is a little slow to me. I like Quinn is honest with him self. Doesn’t give in right away with Rochelle. New beginnings. He wants the truth and she stalls to much. The story is a little slow to me. It really didn’t pick up or get my attention until chapter 23.😟 But I am glad I stuck with it. I don’t no if I will get Bric story.

Rochelle & Quin's story.

It was good to see Rochelle's story revealed. Not sure if I like her, tho, to be honest. I just don't get what the big deal was with her "secret". But I also don't really see why Smith hated her so much. Bric is the one who surprised me the most. However, not enough to read on to the 3rd book.

Narrators did a fine job.

Not loving the characters

I never liked Rachelle... but after hearing her in this book I really don't like her worth a crap...and Quin's explanation after the meeting about why he did what he did really ticked me off...

What a ride...

Oh what it's like to dive into this nontraditional story. This one had me all in my head and my heart. I got near tears, and the ending was what it needed to be. This one was much more emotional for me than book 1. I enjoyed it and the audio narration was great! On to book 3.

STOP READING IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THIS YET!

But...but...my nontraditional heart wants the throuple. This ended up being my favourite of all three books and the middle part. I think Bric and Quin were always a little bit in love, for sure Bric with Quin, but I believe it was both ways. Quin just wanted Rochelle more, but I don't think he'll ever lose it, just tuck it away, because Bric was taking over, as he does, and would have taken it all. I thought Bric would keep them in the throuple, but then he started falling, losing control of his heart. I'm not mad at it, but again, I needed the throuple, the "us". Book 3 messed my head up, the mind f*ck is real. If you read this after my spoiler warning, yes continue, yes read book 3, then read this review again. You'll see why I say what I do.

Quinn is a whining bitch

The first book was great. I don’t even think I can finish this book. An entire book of him moping and treating her like crap. So ridiculous.

All consuming storytelling at it's finest !!!

JA Huss is just... amazing! She is a brilliant story teller. Her books don't just take you for a ride, they consume you! When I first read Turning Point, I was totally bored with Quinn. I think because I expect dark and twisted when it comes to Hussy books. I was very hesitant to get into this one, but now I kick myself in the ass for waiting so long. I LOVE QUINN and Rochelle's story. I especially loved how they act if a plural relationship seemed...normal. Julie you are by far a craftsman. The EOBS let us into a little bit of you and I , personally, think that it was one of the best. Thank you for taking me on this ride and I can't wait to carry onto His Turn!

SERIOUSLY ON FIRE!!!

As always, JA Huss never cease to amaze her readers! She comes back to us with some intense twists in this series. I mean, you never know what going to happen next. An of course, the sex scenes were sooooo hot, you are going to need a cold shower for hours.🚿🚿🔥🔥🔥

Whst a brilliant, unconventional, love story!

This has been a wonderful listen. The narrators captured the story and delivered this compelling tale masterfully. All three were excellent but I need to say that Tad Branson's empathetic, beauyifully paced, delivery was outstanding. This is definitely a book I will listen to again.

Cheers to the non traditional

Julie writes a great book, I love the twists , the humanity, the sexiness and the humour. I’m about to start the next in series. The attic scene is also one of my favourites ( to Julie). The audiobook really comes into its own, when Quin is explaining to Rochelle the that girl analogy. I was reading this on my kindle at first. Then returned to audio, rereading that chapter. The acting made hairs on my neck tingle. The scene was explosive . Julie you have become my favourite author. Don’t change the quirk, it’s brilliant. U.K. reader

Emotions were high, I was on the edge of my seat - Brilliant

If you’ve read book 1 (and I highly recommend you do - although it isn’t absolutely necessary) you will know that we started off with three men and a lady, after losing one of the men and the lady, Rochelle, we begin book 2 with two men and no lady. All that is about to change. Enter the illusive Rochelle, the woman that ran away with Quin’s heart in the beginning of book 1, and the woman who continues to rock the boat between all three of these men, even Smith who is out of the game. Emotions are high, the stress is real, yet I was so impressed with Rochelle and Quin’s staying power, she didn’t waver one bit, she was strong, loving and had a heart of gold. So too did Quin, yet with so many secrets I wasn’t sure how it would all pan out. You’ll have to read it to find out. I can’t believe I waited six weeks before following up book 1, Taking Turns, with this book. I will say something, I’m going to start book 3, His Turn, straight straight away, no waiting six weeks. I’m going to dive straight in. Bric here I come. Brilliant story, wonderful characters, lots of toe curling sexy times and brilliant narration. Full five stars from me.

Enjoying this series

Loving this series, and I loved the story. Quinn and Bricks narrators were fantastic, but I did not like the female narrator at all, it was like she had a plum in her mouth whilst talking, very irritating, I just wanted her to sound natural and she didn’t, this in turn made me not really like Rochelle, but it was Quinn and Brick which held this book together.

I going straight to book three now as I’ve just got to listen to Brick’s book.
