Editorial reviews

With the new novel Turn Up the Heat, mother-daughter co-authors Susan Park and Jessica Conant add a third book to their popular Gourmet Girl series. Charming foodie Chloe Carter is again single, dating, and entangled in suspense. Chloe’s chef boyfriend is working at a restaurant about to open in a posh section of Boston. A server (and girlfriend of the restaurant’s owner) is found strangled with her own apron ties in a food delivery truck. Chloe undertakes to solve the murder before the restaurant is cloaked in bad publicity. She discovers scandal and lies. Kim McKean continues to narrate the series, and her hip performance highlights Chloe’s au currant vibe. This novel wonderfully relates characters, rules, and sins that are peculiar to restaurant culture.

Publisher's Summary

Chloe Carter is helping her chef boyfriend with his new restaurant on Boston’s posh Newbury Street, when a crabby waitress is found dead in a fish truck. Was this a prank gone awry? Or did somebody want her to sleep with the fishes?
