Publisher's Summary

A Washington Post and Amazon Charts bestseller.

From USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke comes a witty romance about first love and second chances.

After being burned by her dream job in New York City, sports journalist Neely Kimber suddenly finds herself jobless and paying a long-overdue visit to her hometown in Tennessee. Her plan? Relax, reset, and head back up the corporate ladder. There’s just one unexpected step. Neely’s back in Dogwood Lane for barely a day when she sees the man she ran from nine years ago: the bad boy next door who was her first kiss, her first love, and her first heartbreak.

Devoted single dad Dane Madden knows he hurt Neely in the worst way. He’s got a lot to make up for. And as passionate as their reconnection is, it’s a lot to hope for. Having her back in his arms feels so right. But falling in love all over again with a woman who wants to live a world away is bound to go so wrong.

What’s it going to take for Neely to give him - and Dogwood Lane - just one more chance?

Sweet story but difficult premise starts the story

Overall, I enjoyed the book and I think this is going to be a great series. However, I have to say that I think that Neely forgave Dane a little too quickly. His transgression was pretty awful. But otherwise, I liked their banter, their relationship and I really enjoyed the cuteness of Mia (Dane's daughter). It was a sweet story overall and addresses the question of whether what you thought you wanted is really what you need. I didn't appreciate the negativity of the city but that could be because I'm a city girl (Although I appreciate the country life too!) I listened to the audiobook and I loved the narration. Summer Morton and Aiden Snow both played their roles and others really well and elevated the story.

Second Chance Romance with a great narration!

I swear I hold grudges like no other because second chance romances are so hard for me to read! The writing was really good and I loved the characters but man oh man I don’t think I would have forgiven Dane like Neely did. Dane and Neely were high school sweethearts until he broke her heart before she left for college, I don’t want to give it away but it was a tough pill to swallow let alone forgive! I can understand his thoughts behind the break up but everything that happened after that was a pure douche move, especially when he acted all offended that she was still pissed and wanted nothing to do with him. When I ignored their past then I absolutely loved Dane, he was a great and devoted guy, but like I said… I’m a grudge holder. All I kept thinking about was Ross yelling at Rachel (on Friends) that they were "on a break”! Mia is an adorable and well behaved ten year old and all their mutual friends back in Dogwood Lane are hilarious! Luckily there was a Happily Ever After for them, but I felt insulted on Neely’s behalf because 10 years of their life was wasted… but life happens I guess. Aiden Snow and Summer Morton did a great job narrating the story! I love Aiden Snow and his deep sexy voice! Summer Morton was a new narrator for me but she did an amazing job and I loved her accents. I got a major Sweet Home Alabama vibe from all the characters and accents!

Small town love story

What I liked were the readers of this sweet story. Small town girl to the big city and back to her roots. What I didn’t like is that Dane broke Neely’s heart in so many ways , but she is the one constantly feeling bad about her feelings. While I can appreciate being a big person, I spent most of the book being mad at Dane for his actions. I guess that is the mark of a great writer; even when I disagree with the actions of her characters, she is still able to evoke strong feelings. I will be reading (listening) to the other books in this series.

Sweet Story!

This is a sweet, second-chance romance. You can’t go wrong with an alpha southern cowboy with a heart of gold. The slow burn build up was done well, but a little disappointed with quick and abrupt HEA with no epilogue. Could have used a little more story for the ending, but a good listen overall.

Great second chance romance

Slow start but great ending. Dane and Neely are great characters and I love Mia! Dane and Neely so easily fell back into their rhythm, their undeniable attraction and all of the feelings. Mia is his life but she became Neely’s future in a flash. History is about to repeat itself just when they give in to their hearts and bodies. Fighting for a future involving everything you didn’t know you wanted became Neely’s priority, albeit a bit late. For Dane, the fight for what you want do you don’t make the second biggest mistake of your life takes some prodding from the nanny and the child he has given everything for and to for almost ten years. The result? A spectacular public display and a HEA! Tumble is a great second chance romance.

Light romance

Tumble is a second chance romance set in a small town. The story is fairly light. I enjoyed the story but think it could have been a bit heavier and angstier. Loved the character of mia. Narrators Aiden Snow and Summer Morton did an amazing job on the audible!

Tumble

This was a wonderful small town second chance romance. Neely has come home after quitting her job after being overlooked for the promotion that should have been hers. Now she is back in Dogwood, the one place she was never going to return. Dane is still living and working in Dogwood and now raising his daughter there and running into Neely is something he didn't think would ever happen again. After the way he hurt her he is not surprised when she wants nothing to do with him. However, his daughter Mia is a gymnast and when they form a bond during practice she is surprised when Mia's dad picks her up and he turns out to be Dane. These two soon fall back into a comfortable and romantic time. All is good until her dream job offer comes. Oh, this was so good!

love this story

I read books 2 and 3 of this series first. I love this one just as much as the other 2. I'm still not 100% sure of how I feel about the way it was narrated. don't get me wrong, they both did a great job, but it's the one chapter at a time part that's not my favorite. the way this one was done, you still have a male doing the female parts, and the female doing the male parts, instead of them each doing their part within the same chapter. production wise, Neely's chapters were louder than Dane's, which made it kind of a pain having to adjust throughout.
