About this listen
1886, Central Asia. A female shaman sells a bundle full of rare tulip bulbs to a field botanist. After arriving back home in Holland, the valuable bundle goes missing. Convinced a poor, crippled dock worker is the thief, the botanist goes in hot pursuit. But when the botanist fails to return, his son asks the local constable to investigate.
When the constable meets up with the dock worker's wife and the couple's teenaged daughter the shaman's curse is fully unleased and the seven people collide in the most unexpected, intimate, and heart wrenching of ways. The discovery of hidden treasure and the unexpected and intense blossoming of first love add an uplifting twist.
A coming-of-age story. Adult content.
