Publisher's Summary

Knowing God truly, experiencing him deeply.

What would it look like to genuinely love God with our head and our heart? To have a faith marked by right thinking and right feeling? To know God deeply and worship him passionately? Too often, Christians act as though these things are at odds with one another. But what if God intends for us to possess a Christianity that is radically committed to biblical truth, in a way that did not diminish the life of the heart, but actually intensified it?

Adam Ramsey invites us to engage both our minds and our emotions in our walk with God as we gaze at him until our hearts sing. He sums it up like this:

"My hope in these following pages is to paint a biblical portrait of what God is actually like, so that we can gaze upon him together until our hearts can’t help but sing. To behold him in such a way that our daily experience is transformed with a deepened awareness of who it is we pray to, who it is that is with us, and who it is that we are loved by. To let God’s truth set our hearts on fire."

If you yearn for God but desire a clearer biblical picture of this God whom you love, or if you have been walking with God for a while now, but your experience of him has become settled or dry, then this book is for you.

A great find

I am no longer able to read books but I listen to them. And it is good that Truth on Fire by Adam Ramsey is available on Audible. The narrator is the author and he is easy to listen to with an engaging Australian accent.
Because there is so much amazing and helpful information in each paragraph I think having the physical book in front of you and taking time to absorb and reflect on the wonderful truths about God would be the way to benefit from Truth on Fire. Once my carers set me up to listen I'm unable to stop or replay and it's difficult to hold onto some of the great things I've been listening to. That's why I'm listening to it for the third time.
Nevertheless my heart sings as I am reminded how great God is.
Because I don't have the book in front of me I'll go from memory and give an impression of what I've taken from the book.
The attributes of God are described and explained.
Huge reassurance. Although God is holy and just he is also loving and merciful. God delights in us. Wow! I was worshipping and praising as I listened and long afterwards.
God is everywhere. Christ is with us. The Spirit is in us. And we are in Christ. Such intimacy.
What we learn about God should affect our relationship with him and our behaviour and relationships with other people.
Near the end of the book is a really good section about our future hope.
And other sections cover God's patience and mercy and there is much more.
Scripture is quoted through the book in a relevant helpful way.
Texts from the old and new testament.
And authors down the ages are referenced. From the early church fathers, Reformers, Puritans , Spurgeon, Muller, Martin Llloyd Jones, Francis Schaefer to contemporary authors.
Truth on Fire achieves its objective guiding the reader / listener to love the Lord God with our hearts and our minds.
