About this listen

Once again Liane Moriarty uses her unique, razor-sharp observational skills to sift through the emerging fault lines of seemingly happy families.

If only they'd said no....

What if they hadn't gone? That's the question Clementine can't stop asking herself.

It was just a backyard barbeque. They didn't know their hosts that well. They were friends of friends. They could so easily have said no. But she and her husband, Sam, said yes, and now they can never change what they did and didn't do that beautiful winter's day. Six responsible adults. Three cute kids. One yapping dog. It's a normal weekend in the suburbs. What could possibly go wrong?

A beautiful, rich narrative with excellent character development. I enjoy the background research Liane puts into all of her books.

Fantastic characters, real relationships and a roller coaster of emotions. Captures the complexity of being a busy parent and experiencing inter generational trauma.

Loved every minute

I am not even sure how the book reads, I have tried multiple times and the reader is impossible to listen to, that it has ruined the book. If returning was possible, I would. I have now learnt to check reviews before wasting my money.

Worst Narrative Ive Heard

I honestly tried and tried to get into this book, but sure if it was the narration or the storyline but I simply could not finish this book!

I had high expectations of this book as I have been a fan of liane moriarty’s other work.
This story was very dull there was nothing outstanding to speak of. I kept listening thinking there would be a twist in the story but there was nothing.
I wouldn’t recommend this book. It has nothing to offer. Most people’s everyday life is more eventful.
