About this listen

Their names echo through true crime history like dark legends: John Wayne Gacy, the Zodiac Killer, Richard Ramirez, Aileen Wuornos, Charles Manson, Ted Bundy, and the Golden State Killer. Their infamous deeds have been exhaustively chronicled across every medium imaginable. But beyond these household names lies a shadow world of equally chilling cases that rarely make headlines or streaming television documentaries.

The True Crime Case Histories series plunges readers into this darker territory, presenting 176 meticulously researched cases that prove the most disturbing crimes often occur far from the spotlight. Spanning decades and drawing from extensive police records, court documents, and firsthand accounts, this comprehensive collection of fifteen volumes reveals stories that many have tried to forget—or deliberately buried.

While mainstream media often sanitizes crime coverage for mass consumption, True Crime Case Histories takes a different approach. Each account presents an unflinching, fact-based examination of human depravity in its rawest form. From small-town murders that shattered quiet communities to serial killers who operated in plain sight for years, these pages contain 176 stories that will challenge your understanding of human nature.

Perfect for true crime fans who think they have heard it all...

Lots of interesting little stories, many of which I had never heard - ie not the headline grabbers we all know. And the short story format makes this epic book easy to listen to in small doses. However, the first narrator really, really, needed to check his pronunciations! So many names pronounced wrong, and when it is the name of the victim or perp, and therefore repeated a lot, it drives you mad! Otherwise, definitely worth a listen if you are interested in this type of thing.

A True Crime Treasure Trove – Ignore the Karens, This Collection Delivers

As an avid true crime enthusiast, aficionado, and someone completing a Master’s in Criminology, I can confidently say True Crime Case Histories: The Massive 15-Book Collection is an absolute triumph of research, narrative clarity, and chilling intrigue.

Ignore the naysayers—clearly, some reviews were written by those who skimmed the surface or came expecting Hollywood theatrics. This isn’t CSI: Miami, folks. This is a carefully curated, well-written deep dive into criminal psychology, method, and madness. If you’re here for substance, nuance, and detail—this collection delivers.

What impressed me most wasn’t just the recounting of notorious cases, but the inclusion of lesser-known events that even I, having studied hundreds if not thousands of scenes and events, hadn’t encountered or fully understood until now. There were moments I paused just to appreciate the level of investigative effort and respect shown to both the facts and the victims.

The author deserves immense credit for handling sensitive topics with both precision and gravity—no salacious embellishments, just well-honed storytelling rooted in fact and empathy. The result is a masterclass in true crime writing.

For fellow fans of the genre, you won’t be disappointed. In fact, you might just find yourself lost for hours, eyes wide, spine tingling, and brain buzzing.

Terrible 2nd voice

I’m disappointed I purchased this package. The narration was terrible by the second narrator. A different one than the sample. So much so that I stopped listening. Sadly, I cannot get a refund. I was very interested in the stories, which seem to be written well. Terrible narrator. I feel ripped off.
