About this listen

A princess. A soldier. A destiny neither could ever imagine.

Leoron of Alera returns home from the Hive wars determined to protect the capital city - and last bastion of a vanished queen’s reign - from civil war. Loyal to the bone, Leo answers the call from Prime Nial and vows to protect at any cost three unknown females arriving from Earth.

But the simple soldier is unprepared for the shock of desire that brings him to his knees at first sight of Trinity Jones. Nothing makes sense as Leo fights friend and foe alike and discovers the woman stealing his heart has a destiny beyond anything he could have imagined.

Welcome to the planet Alera, where women from Earth not only find their mates, but fight to rule the world.

Enjoyable about an exiled Queeen and her daughters who have stayed hidden on earth. A slip up sees the queen disappear and her daughter go back to claim the throne. this story is about Trinity and her mate. The narration, while not brilliant, was passable.

Enjoyable story.

just the right amount of drama and storyline to keep you intrigued.
onto the next in the series now. I'm thoroughly addicted to Grace Goodwin's stories.

didn't mind the story.. but soooooo much internal dialogue and repeated dialogue that it got very frustrating and created a dislike for the listening.

a bit slow and boring

I enjoyed the first part but by part 3 my attention was drifting and I found it hard to follow (I ended up joining the dots in the plot to work out what was going on). I also struggled greatly with a male reading from a females point of view.

A little fantasy and romance

The story had promise but halfway through book two it stalls and struggles to get going again. eg important person kidnapped, let's stand around and chat for two or three chapters before doing anything. But it's not all bad, and for a free audible listen I'm happy. Having a male narrator for the female POV chapters was always creepy, especially in the saucy bits.

not the worst, not the best

This story is all about Trinity & Leo and the struggles they face before an after they discover they are mates because she is a princess and he a lowly guard and there are traitors, power brokers and assassins wanting her dead. There is a major power struggle going on and Trinity and her sisters are upsetting the plans of some very powerful people. I highly recommend this book and the series as a whole.

Excellent

The premis was there but by Chapter 14, we were still nowhere. Totally bored and couldn't continue.

Story? What story?

Story had potential but characters were not engaging/ had no depth. And having a male narrate a female is never a good choice.

Had potential
