About this listen

James Bond is back where he belongs.

Anthony Horowitz's new novel is a thrilling tour de force, sure to delight fans of the original 007 novels and new readers alike. It also features previously unseen material written by Bond's creator, Ian Fleming.

The story begins in the lethal world of Grand Prix and with an attempt by the Russians to sabotage a race at Nürburgring, the most dangerous track in Europe. Bond is in the driving seat, but events swiftly take an unexpected turn, pitching him into an entirely different race with implications that could change the world.

Anthony Horowitz recreates the golden age of Bond, packed with speed, danger, strong women, and fiendish villains, in this brilliantly authentic adventure.

David Oyelowo has appeared in films such as The Last King of Scotland, Lincoln, Jack Reacher, The Butler and Selma.

I was eager to read this after finishing “no time to die” which I enjoyed immensely.

It was good, felt in the same vein as Ian Fleming, however it took a bit more to get into.

I was under the impression it revolved around formula 1. But that was a small section.

Overall I did enjoy it, just not as much as “no time to die”

A good nod to Ian Fleming

Love this combination of Horowitz and Bond, always willing to suspend a bit of belief so that he always comes out on top.

Love Bond and Horowitz

I'm a big fan of the original Bond books, I was a little sceptical at first but as it pans out this is close to the originals in plot and feel- a good story and very well narrated.

Like a classic Bond

The genius of Horowitz’ faithful and ingenious encapsulation of the spirit of Fleming, and Oyelowo’s astonishing vocal range makes for a great listen. The incredible pace of the text about the Nurburgring is breathlessly matched by the narrator. A triumph!

Sensational!

Takes me back to my youth and the thrill of reading all the original Fleming Bond Novels.

Captures Fleming's descriptive style perfectly.

I cannot listen to this. Awful narration. Usually I love Horowitz but this has ruined his work.

Awful and creepy
