A nerve-shredding suspense thriller from bestselling author Nick Louth. Trapped is perfect for fans of Cara Hunter, JP Delaney and Rachel Abbott.

In Manchester, two hardened gang members on the run take Catherine Blake and her one-year-old son hostage at gunpoint. She is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Held in a Transit van, Catherine needs a plan fast. But it means diving into her captors’ risk-drenched world, and playing them at their own game. Catherine has been through cancer, miscarriages and five draining years of IVF in order to have her son Ethan. He is the most precious thing in the world. She may be terrified out of her wits, but she’d do anything to protect him. Anything, no matter the cost...Brace yourself.©2019 Nick Louth (P)2019 W. F. The male narrator for this story is terrible, especially in the beginning. The story however, is clever and worth listening to. I listened at 1.2 speed. I enjoyed how the husband narrated the first part.

Twists and turns

It has a good plot but unlikeable characters—too much swearing. I found the in-time and out-of-body reflections from the husband strange. There is a lot of detail, but that felt like it slowed the plot down. I had to keep jumping back chapters. I thought I had missed a plot change. This was the hardest listen yet. Sorry.

The narrator sounds bored, and his performance distracts from the story.

For an action packed book, this is a tough listen. Too much exposition, narrator sounds bored. Pity, because the premise was decent.

Mind numbing
