This set of books really got me in. I loved, loved, loved it. The characters were realistic, witch mothers treating their mid 20s girls like teenagers, an 80 yr old aunt acting like a young person. Mystery, murder, falling in love you have it all. Once started I couldn't turn it off unless I really had to. Listened all day and then when I went to bed. Well done Tess look forward to more of your books

I fell in love with the Torrent family and the fantastic story weaved by tess Lake and marvellously read by Natalie duke. 10/10!

This is such a lovely series that drew me in from the start and it's just so amazing to be able to listen and know that you'll have all the answers by the end because it's completed. If you're wondering if it's worth the credit - it definitely is!! It's cozy and sweet but also is so well crafted that there were so many unexpected twists and turns. Each book has a small mystery while an overall mystery sits behind the whole series that builds up and is revealed at the end, and it's just such a great listen! The narrator is also amazing, and I loved listening to the engaging way she tells the story and the different voices (especially Adams!!). 10/10 recommend :)

I found it very easy to fall into the story and connect with the characters.

The main character - Harlow - sometimes refers to previous events to help the reader remember the relevant information for the moment. Some people might find this irritating if you are irritated by the "previously..." scenes at the start of TV shows. Like TV shows, it probably depends on your pace and memory.

I would definitely watch a televised version of this series.

Definitely cosy and witchy, and sometimes I was able to solve the mystery before the characters did. Original take on witches that isn't too unfamiliar: no wands, for example.

It might have been nice to have a variety of voices and/or sounds effects, especially in parts where Harlow is experiencing someone else's memories. Maybe that double voice effect so it's more obvious that she's both her and someone else at the same time? I assume in a written version of the book, the distinction could be made with italic font or some other clue.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and was so emotionally invested in the Torrent family that I started to cry tears - both joy and sadness - near the end. Worth the 60+ hours of your time.

In some ways the Torrent Witches reminded me of some friends and neighbours I’ve had throughout my life. The joy of belonging to a close knit Group. The love, care and comradeship shared between the characters.
The story line was good and these books certainly showed the authors joy of writing.
These books are poignant to relationships the love and hate In a small country town, the little human trivialities sometimes seen in this relationships and the magic is a bonus. It was a joy to read this set and I found myself smiling at the likeness between Adams and my own cat.
Don’t be turned off by this book of fiction, there’s a lot more to it than just the story of witches. Enjoy!!!

What fun. With laugh out loud quips an adorable demanding talking cat and the rest all blending in for a fun read/listen to truly delight anyone. Thanks Tess this series was the best.

Thankyou so much for these stories they were simply amazing! I couldn’t help but make comparisons of the story line to my own life along the way and the lessons or learnings seemed to be perfectly timed to what was happening in my life at the time. It was uncanny!
There were many times I laughed out loud and also many times I cried. Definitely cried when it was all done but then even the authors note at the end made me cry more - in a good way!
I’m going to miss those witches and wish I had them in my own life
The only thing I can fault would be that sometimes the sentences would be far too long. I felt as if one sentence could be better as two or three - she needs to take a breath! lol but otherwise - Thank you so much for spending the time to write these, it has been such a pleasure listening 😊
