Publisher's Summary

A USA Today best seller.

Warning: This book contains some very disturbing situations, graphic violence, strong language, and sexual content. For listeners over 18 years.

Love is like an avalanche. It hits hard, fast, and without mercy. At least it did for me when Sculpt, the lead singer of the rock band Tear Asunder, knocked me off my feet - literally. Because he's also a fighter, illegally of course, and he taught me how to fight. He also taught me how to love, and I fell hard for him. I mean, the guy could do sweet when he wasn't doing bossy, and I like sweet.

Then it all shattered. Kidnapped. Starved. Beaten. I was alone and fighting to survive. When I heard Sculpt's voice, I thought he was there to save me. I was wrong.

meh!!

this topic is a serious problem and I felt the author...how would you say....prettied it up, forgot the grit didn't make me feel it.
a lot of name swapping going on between hero and heroine. a lot of sexual chest beating and prolonging going on which just made me want to tell her to tell him to fuck off!!
we are still left with u a sweet questions that the author obviously wants you to deduce for yourself which is ok as long as you don't 2nd guess your self.
needed more suttlty and more depth. I want to read the others but not so sure. glad it was a credit

HE WAS PART OF THIS...HE DID THIS TO ME :(

When I read the description I was curious as to how a Rock Star would be involved with kidnapping women to be sex slaves. We do find out the connection but I still had a hard time dealing with how Logan treated Emily. It's obvious that he treats her different when they're alone then when she's put on sex slave display.

Emily is a strong willed woman and she endures many punishments because of this:
- being whipped
- kicked in stomach, side, head
- drug by hair
- sexually violated
just to name a few

I'm not giving anything away but I will give you a few quotes from the first two chapters:

"I ended up having to pee in the corner of the room. I never felt so dirty in all my life. I felt like an animal and I sobbed as I did it. It was humiliating."

"’Logan’s voice swam into my trembling body and wrapped me into it’s warmth I started sobbing...Logan had come for me he’s here to take me away to stop the pain."

Emily is let down from the ceiling and falls to the floor. She looks over her shoulder for Logan, "When I saw him my heart stopped for a few seconds then started beating erratically it was him but nothing in his eyes was the man I knew he was cold and expressionless as he starred down at me not a glimmer of sympathy in his eyes. I recognized nothing of the man I had fallen in love with, hope died as the realization hit me he was part of this he did this to me."

Man-O-Man now you know why this book sucks you in and doesn't let go.

Mackenzie Harte gave a profound performance. My first book by Nashoda Rose but it most certainly will not be my last.

Absolutely worth the credit and/or $$.

Fantastic

I love a book that takes something from the real world that most of us would rather pretend that it doesn't happen. The sex slave industry is real and happens more likely then anyone from a stable home would like to think. This book puts it in your face and then also addresses the potential issues with recovery from being a slave. If you don't want to put your head in the sand then this is a book for you. There is love, sex, betrayals, and romance. Some of the reviews caution readers not to listen based on the content. I say listen to it and open your eyes. Fantastic all around.

Not A Romance

What three words best describe Mackenzie Harte’s performance?

She was very good, however she is not the reason I stopped listening.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

This book has nothing to do with Rock Stars or Fighters. This book is about sex slavery. No romance just rape, torture and bad writing.

Any additional comments?

You've been warned.

Not the right voice for this story

I had to stop and read the book myself. No offense but the narrator voice is VERY mature for such young characters. Waste of money

But overall the story is great.

Very entertaining

This audiobook was certainly gripping. Warning: there are some things in this story that may be triggers for some people, including abusive situations for women. The story of a musician who falls in love with a young woman who has low self esteem. He becomes her first lover and she is finally looking forward to the future when she is kidnapped and taken to Mexico by human traffickers. Unfortunately, her new boyfriend is with the bad guys. I'm not going to say anything else or the story will be spoiled. Narration was okay, I just wish that Sculpt/Logan had his own voice.

Great series!!

I've read all the books in the Tear Asunder series, but book 1, Torn From You, is my favorite. I recently purchased it from Audible and I enjoyed listening to it as much as reading the book. I thought the narrative was good and kept me interested. I do, however, like when females do their own voice parts and males their own. Instead of having one voice do the whole narrative. A male voice trying to pull off a female voice normally doesn't sound convincing.

A compelling and wild ride of emotions!

Wow did this book ever affect me... I've listened to a lot of stories about women being kidnapped and forced into slavery, but this one really got to me. The imagery was so vivid and the descriptions so dark and haunting that it actually made me really angry at parts and I had to take a break because it was affecting my mood outside of listening to it. That is truly the mark of a good book, that it affects you on such a level. This book is definitely difficult to listen to at parts and I warn you that there's a lot of pain and emotional turmoil throughout regarding the sex trade and degredation of women, so if you have a hard time with it, you might not want to listen. But overall, it pays off. They get their happy ending and I heard at the end that there are other books in the series which sounds exciting, I would love to hear Kat's story as well as Georgie's, and even love to hear more about who Kai is and how Raven could change with the right people around her. I think Kai could be that for her, but who knows what will happen. Anyway, this was an excellent listen and I'm definitely moving forward with the series.

Good Start, but lost my interest fast

I really struggled to finish this book it was great at first and then hit rock bottom . I did not feel the narrator's voice matched the voice of a 20 something young woman. the first few chapters kept me intrigued but then there was 20 boring chapters that made me want to just give up on it completely.

WTH!

started good, then it just goes on a tangent. writing chapters just to fill the book. everything in between was just a waist.
the narrator made the characters whiny. I actually skipped chapters to get through it faster. what a waste of a credit.
