About this listen

I've spent the past three years in college terrorizing the dean, also known as my father. I'm everything he hates. Troublemaker. Slacker. Gay.

But I'm only getting started. I'm about to make Dad really proud with my newest life choices....

I fall for my best friend, Mia, who's a freaking chick. I'm dying to make out with my enemy, dude bro Brayden. And best of all, I want to bone my new roomie, Drew, who happens to also be the school's new hockey coach.

Senior year's great. I'm still the world's worst human. I've made all the wrong decisions, and when Dad gets wind of my newest mess, he might actually disown me this time.

But I can't stop. I don't want to stop.

In typical Ashton Carter fashion, I wreck my life in the worst possible way. It isn't until it's all torn apart, I realize I have a problem. Me.

Contains mature themes.

Three college seniors and one coach are irresistibly drawn to each other. Ashton is intelligent and rebellious, much to the despair of his father, the dean of the college. Ashton’s best friend, Mia, is also smart, but wishes her rich mother would treat her better. Brayden is the ice hockey team’s arrogant star player but he’s far from a star student and seeks out Ashton and Mia’s help to pass. Ashton shares an apartment with (An)Drew who is a substitute coach for the college ice hockey team. He turned pro but something went wrong and he’s back coaching the team and Brayden is making life difficult. While only Ashton is gay, all three men are attracted to Mia and to each other and a very confused Mia finds herself pulled in different directions at once.

I was sort of surprised to like this MF? / MM? / nascent polycule? / sports romance. There was a huge helping of relationship angst as Mia fought for clarity, the men struggled to define their feelings, and no one could make a firm decision—talk about wanting a whole tray of cakes and eating them too! I felt like I got a good handle on the main characters, the story was gripping, the chemistry between everyone was great, and given this is the first in a duology, I could totally forgive the massive cliffhanger. 🎧 Kelsey Navarro (as Mia) was excellent on the audio. I always enjoy Tim Paige’s performances but he voiced the three men with absolutely no discernible change in tone or accent, so it was sometimes hard to remember which male character he was channeling.

College seniors & coach cause fireworks/heartache!

I enjoyed this story and the narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life.
