Publisher's Summary

Random House presents the audiobook edition of Too Close by Natalie Daniels, read by Clara Salaman and Sara Stewart.

For fans of The Girlfriend and The Wife Between Us, Too Close is a twisting tale of friendship and betrayal.

How close is too close?

There’s a moment, when you meet someone new, when the connection is so strong that making a friend can feel like falling in love.

That’s how it was for Connie and Ness. They met in the park while their children played, and as they talked, they realised they were neighbours. Perhaps it was only natural that they and their families would become entirely inseparable.

But when Ness’ marriage ends in a bitter divorce, she is suddenly at Connie’s house all the time. Connie doesn’t have a moment to herself, no time alone with her husband, not a second to chat to her kids. It’s all too much. Something has to give.

Connie has woken up in a psychiatric hospital. They say she committed a terrible crime, but she says she can’t remember a thing.

FANTASTIC!! The best book I've listened too

This book was awesome, the narrator for Connie was PERFECT, the book had me laughing one minute and crying the next. Never before has this sort of story been told and I loved every minute. I couldn't stop listening to it. Honestly get this book and you won't regret it!

Fantastic Book...And I’m VERY Picky!

I loved this book. The storyline is harsh and could have been depressing but the book is full of humour and is brilliantly narrated, so at times it’s laugh out loud funny and ultimately uplifting. Definitely worth a credit and Connie is perhaps the best narration I’ve heard. Excellent!

Unusual, powerful story.

This is a novel story (no pun intended). It’s essentially the account of one woman’s mental illness, her experiences and her actions. It’s very well written and quite compelling. As someone who worked in mental health services for decades, I can also say it is accurate. The ending was really satisfying. The narration was excellent.

Kept making me late

Beautifully crafted characters and relationships woven into a story from two perspectives. dialogue that flowed so perfectly. there is nothing to dislike about this book or the performances. I found myself sitting in the car too many times listening to the last part of a chapter. Deserves 6 stars really

Incredible

I listen to a book a week but to date have not felt compelled to leave a review. The book however MUST receive the accolade it is due! It is marvellous. Witty, dark, thought-provoking, enchanting...credit to both the author and the narrator!!! Delivered with such ownership of the narrative and characters. Outstanding ⭐️

Follow up please!

I've never read anything by Natalie Daniels before. This book was brilliantly written. Although subject serious it had me laughing out loud at the sattire and comedy produced by the characters. The narrators were perfect, expressing the authors story in a way that makes you love all the characters and keeps you guessing on "who's the baddie" concluding the story leaving a feel good mood. There is definitely room to take this book into a series and I only hope the author does this as I would love to hear more about this extended, dysfunctiona,l but nearly working family. Loved it!
