About this listen

While Ellie and her friends are away in the bush, the world changes. Suddenly they are in the toughest situations humans can confront, facing life and death decisions. They are thrown into a world where they find courage, initiative, spirit, and wisdom, or they die.

The first of an enormously popular series that has been translated and published all over the world.

I read the novel a few years ago, but thought I'd listen to the audio book as well. It was very well narrated and well worth listening to

Only thing of note was the pronunciation of Khancoban at the end. It is cancoben not kahancobhan. Narrater should pay a little more attention when she switches voices, but very enjoyable.

the first time I learnt about the tommrow series was when my year 8 teacher read the first book in the sequel series to this book the Ellie chronocals. it got me into reading the tommrow series through high-school and I really enjoyed them then and really enjoyed revisiting this story now all these years later.

This is an established popular teen fiction book. I purchased this audiobook to use alongside a printed copy of the book. I was hoping to listen to a chapter at a time. Unfortunately, the way the audiobook version works, it divides the book into seven "chapters" (read sections), with no information on how to locate the individual chapters. Trying to forward to the appropriate part of the book is clunky on the current app. I hope that this will be something the makers of the app consider for future improvement.

Engaging story, format is annoying.

Enjoyable from start to finish. Pace didn't let up right to the very end

Non stop action packed

The story telling is excellent and intriguing as told from the eyes of a teenager.
Very good description of the trials of growing up and coming to terms wth responsibility while woven in to a turbulent story of invasion

The innocence of youth with a hetfy dose of grow up fast

I first read this book more than twenty years ago, back when I was in school.
Looking back I thought it wouldn’t hold up and went into it expecting a jingoistic proaussie bit of propaganda, but instead, I found something more mature and nuanced than I remembered.

An Australian classic.
