Fabulous detail with exceptional action dragging you to one intersection to another where you waited for someone to tear down your safe haven in moments.

Very bureaucratic story, great perfomance

Scott Brick as usual delivers a great performance and it was great to go back to the cold war era with some our most beloved characters involved, but I'm my opinion it was a bit disappointing
I'm re-listening to all the series and right after listen to Debt of honour, executive orders and command authority it was just hard to listen to this generic story

Thoughts

Great story and narration. Book read like an old school Clancy classic. Appreciated being able to go back down memory lane with Jack Ryan. Highly recommend for old Clancy fans.

pedestrian story

Some critics believe jack ryan lost its way. However this story does little to restore the brand. Average at best

Too Old for 2023

I purchased this book because it was one I hadn't read yet. Tom C. is one of my favourite authors. So I was excited and thought OMG this must be a new one I have to read it. It's set just after the Cold War, just before Global Warming 🤷‍♂️ I got turned off at several points throughout the book, When they talked about the SR71 Blackbird like it was the latest aerial weapon the US has... It's now long retired. They walked past a typewriter repair shop... No internet... so it was somewhat antiquated for me. My favourite, funny, and descriptive part was when the tough woman threatened a guy that she would make a coin purse with his testicle sack... Over and out... Good narrator

The plot just dragged for me

I really tried, first Tom Clancy book I never bothered finishing. Marc Cameron’s take on this universe is not up to it for me.
