I enjoyed reading this book, the characters were so believable and relatable. Dick Francis is my go-to author when I just want to read, a well written engaging story that keeps me entertained from the first sentence to the last word.

This has always been a favourite of mine.

Alexander Kinloch might be a painter who lives in the isolated and wild Scottish Highlands but he’s also a dedicated and loyal son who's bravery, intelligence and nerve are tested to the limit when he finds himself pitted against violent and deadly embezzlers who've stolen his step-father’s company fortune and facing down the formidable Zoe Lang who’s determined to wrest a treasured family heirloom and hand it to the nation.

Despite not being a painter himself, Dick Francis’ books on creating art have an authenticity that's both deep and raw.

I wish the quality of the audio was 100% but having listened to this version as a child in its original cassette format I don't want anyone but Tony Britton as my narrator.
