Publisher's Summary

This book provides potential tiny house dwellers and manufacturers with relevant tips on building and living their lives effectively in tiny or small homes. In the housing world, this downsizing of your living space and starting to live simply in small homes is what has come to be referred to as the “Tiny House Movement”.

The world is rapidly changing, as environmental and economic forces continuously compel you to reevaluate your living lifestyle on the earth. In the United States, most people have lost their dwellings due to the current economic troubles; this has seen the “Tiny House Movement” spread in a sweeping phenomenon.

According to a census in 2010, 2,392 square feet was the average size for homes in the US. This figure is a reduced square footage dating back in 2007, when 2,521 square feet was the average size. On the same chart, in 1973, 1,660 square feet was the average size. These changes clearly prove that the calculation or averaging of these sizes is not constant but rather subject to opinion.

The truth is, you can significantly reduce the risk of financial ruin in case you’re sacked by reducing your rental expenditure. Therefore, it’s incredibly brilliant to join the movement and shift to "living small" in a tiny or small house. Tiny houses have many advantages (as discussed later on in the book). However, smaller homes save you money and time. More importantly, they offer peace of mind since the thought of you doing what’s good for your environmental satisfies you.

Living big by living small.

Yes, as ironic as it sounds, it’s the absolute truth. Take a moment and ponder it. You can live to your maximum by living in a small or tiny home; downsize for a reason. Living small helps you to live big by getting rid of the unused or unwanted stuff. Living small is all about decluttering your life.

Living small not only helps you to simplify your home by clearing the clutter or making it smaller but can also:

  • Simplify your relationships
  • Simplify your business or job duties
  • Simplify your routines for exercising
  • Simplify your meals
  • Simplify your attitude
  • Simplify your thoughts

It’s these little changes that add up and contribute to a significant positive outcome in your living.
