Publisher's Summary

Willa Doon has always been shy. Her quiet demeanor was something she's always embraced. That is until Jackson Page moves to town. The one man she desperately wants to take notice struggles to remember her name.

Year after year, Willa stands by, watching as the bartender/playboy drowns his demons in beer and sex. Then one night, he shows up at her door, suddenly aware that the girl he's seen around Lark Cove is now a beautiful woman.

Except what he doesn't remember is that this visit isn't his first. They spent a night together once before. A night he's forgotten, thanks to a bottle of tequila.

A night that crushed a timid girl's heart and set a broken man on the path to heal them both.

GAH!!!

I absolutely loved this book!!!
Willa has loved Jackson since she was a teenager and one night he kisses her....but he forgot it happened!!
In most books there is usually so much push and pill, that it eventually becomes annoying!! Not this book. Willa is not a doormat, nor is she whiney and indecisive. Jackson comes off as a jerk, but it doesn't last and you can't hell but love him. Maxine Mitchell (whom I do not love) was awesome in this book, and Aaron Shedlock, well there are no words for his awesomeness! Everyone should read this!!!

Beautiful romance enhanced by amazing narration!

Timid by Devney Perry is a beautiful romance. it is filled with endearing and complex characters. The emotions are intense and palpable. Aaron Shedlock and Maxine Mitchell bring Jackson and Willa to life with intention and precision. Their voices never detract from the plot and feeling of the story. They captured the characters with vigor and enhanced my reading experience.

Narrative

Female narrative is a 5 star. The male narrative was a 2 star maybe but really a 1 star.
His huff and puff was so off putting. do publishers really think listeners are endeared to this narration? What an insult. Just listen to a couple minutes. If you don’t hear the BIG problem then it’s not up to me to tell you. There is a bigger corporate problem.

Meh.

The male lead ruined it for me. The Female could have read this by herself and done a better job.

Amazing series

I absolutely adored this book. Devney Perry has a way of making you want to live in her fictional towns, regardless of the harsh Montana winters! This author is quickly becoming one of my all time favorites! When I’m in a funk, I know I can grab one of her books and it’ll draw me out.

The bartender and his timid girl

After his mom dropped off 9yo Jackson at an aunt, he was put into foster care...then he met Hazel and Thea. When the only family he ever knew moved to Lark Cove, MT, naturally Jackson followed. Now, several years later, he helps Thea run Hazel’s bar. He’s a solitary man, never letting anyone in...until that night when Thea showed him a drawing she made of Willa. Willa has loved Jackson from afar for many years but he never really sees her...he calls her Willow for goodness sakes! Then one night she was stargazing in the park when Jackson showed up...and they shared a kiss. Willa was over the moon...until next day when she realizes that Jackson had been drunk and high...and didn’t remember a thing! When Jackson unexpectedly shows up on her doorstep asking her on a date, Willa rejects him...then 2ce again after that. Eventually, Jackson wears her down and they begin dating. But that’s only part of their story! Jackson’s mother shows up...and that’s not the only surprise. Lots of drama is up for Jackson and Willa...can their new relationship survive?

I really wanted to shake Willa

Another fabulous book by Devney Perry. I really wanted to punch Jackson sometimes and shake Willa to stand up for herself, but in the end she grew a backbone somewhat.
