Story
Leadership is not about titles, status and power over people. Leaders are people who hold themselves accountable for recognising the potential in people and ideas and developing that potential. This is an audiobook for everyone who is ready to choose courage over comfort, make a difference and lead. When we dare to lead, we don't pretend to have the right answers; we stay curious and ask the right questions. We don't see power as finite and hoard it; we know that power becomes infinite when we share it and work to align authority and accountability.

Publisher's Summary
In Thrive, Arianna Huffington, the co-founder and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post and one of the most influential women in the world, has written a passionate call to arms, looking to redefine what it means to be successful in today’s world. She likens our drive for money and power to two legs of a three-legged stool. It may hold us up temporarily, but sooner or later we’re going to topple over. We need a third leg – a Third Metric for defining success – in order to live a healthy, productive, and meaningful life.
In this deeply personal book, Arianna talks candidly about her own challenges with managing time and prioritising the demands of a career and two daughters. Drawing on the latest groundbreaking research and scientific findings in the fields of psychology, sports, sleep and physiology that show the profound and transformative effects of meditation, mindfulness, unplugging and giving, Arianna shows us the way to a revolution in our culture, our thinking, our workplaces, and our lives.

I wanted to love this but ended up loathing it
What would have made Thrive better?
The narrator has a very heavy accent - and whilst we live in a wonderful world of diversity, its REALLY hard to listen to a heavy accent in this context. As an English speaker I couldn't get into any rhythm due to the language and trying to listen was a fight. I ended up losing the battle and gave up. I spoke to others who felt the same. Also disapointed that at least some of the information is repetitive from her Sleep Revolution book that I also have - felt a little cheated with some information replicated across both. However, the intent of the book is good and maybe if I had the hard copy, or had continued, I would have felt differently.
Would you be willing to try another one of Agapi Stassinopoulos’s performances?
Unfortunately no. I found her accent too difficult to get true rhythm and enjoyment out of a book.

Too much stats not enough personality!
The concept of this book is great. It began well but soon became apparent there were too many references to statistics of previous studies, which I didn’t care to know about. I was interested in what formula worked for a successful woman such as Arianna. I got what I wanted but the extra stats were unnecessary and spoilt the enjoyment of what could have been a great read/listen.

Turned me into a "sleep" enthusiast ;)
If you could sum up Thrive in three words, what would they be?
Practical, Informative, Commonsensical.
What did you like best about this story?
I don't have a particular favorite but I do love in general that she cited a lot of examples of big shot industry players who made "rest and sleep" a priority and improved the quality of their lives.
Have you listened to any of Agapi Stassinopoulos’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first, and I totally dig that she speaks like Arianna. Great job!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
None.
Any additional comments?
After listening to the book, I tried to tweak my sleeping habit. I used to sleep 3-4 hours a day. Now after reading the book, I am making conscious healthy changes in my lifestyle. Now I get to sleep 8 hrs a day with a 1 hour nap in the afternoon. My brain is more alert and I have more energy which in return makes me more productive. I can accomplish more projects which gives me more income. More importantly, while doing my own day to day tasks - I still get to enjoy the company of my husband at the end of the day and not complain anymore of being so tired and stressed. This book helped me jumpstart creating changes towards a healthy life, rather than the downward spiral that I'm heading which is being burned out. Life is simple - Eat well. Sleep well. Live well :)

The reader can't pronounce words!
English is not the first language of the reader. She mispronounces words and it seems as though she really struggles with fluent sentences.
For a book which is 10 hours+ this results in a not very enjoyable experience.

Narrator is brilliant!
I would certainly recommend this book for anyone who wishes to take a step back from the day-to-day however I wanted to correct some of the hate for the narrator in other review. The narrator is what makes this audiobook great. She is Agapi Stassinopoulos who I believe is the sister of Arianna Huffington.

Limited applicability/relevance
Narrator is not very easy and enjoyable to listen to. Strong accent and confusing pronunciation make it at times more difficult to follow.
Certainly an interesting read for people that are addicted to social media but structure and reference to research/theory fell below my expectations after listening to the introduction.
Books seems like a very personal story that I would find difficult to apply to my or other people's lives even though I can imaging people having the need to disconnect and seeing value in being reminded about this fact or getting a list of apps that stop you from checking email /social media.
I would recommend reading better structured books with clear exercises on specific topics that you would want to improve yourself. However I believe that writing about a third metric / self-awareness / work-life balance / living a less stressful live is an important first step to change the current mindset - and can be impactful if the message comes from someone as senior and commercially focused as the author.

The content of this book does not stand up to other similar books I have listened too. There are *some* interesting 'facts' but it doesnt really take you anywhere. The narrator is not suitable to listen to at all , a very thick and harsh accent, If I had listened to a preview I would not have purchased this (and that is being polite)
