Excellent 4 Star Listen

A J Tata brings back Jake Mahegan for his second book in the series. Jake is an ex-Special Forces soldier still doing work for the government. He's on the trail of an Army Reservist geologist who is forced to steal natural gas after some bad guys kidnap her daughter. The deeper Jake digs the more there seems to be to the plot than just making big money. Lots of fast paced action and suspense in this political thriller. Plus we get more of Jake's back story. Can't wait for the next book!

Jonathan Davis was outstanding with the delivery of the story

Best reader in the genre

Good story, but the writing is inconsistent at times, enough to be distracting, like the character hears a sniper's gunshot and then a supersonic round whizzes by. The story is fun, though. The reader is one of the best, great voices, as fun as watching a movie. The story is action packed. I will listen to the next book in the series.

The momentum continues in book #2

The author is very good at keeping a breathtaking rhythm throughout the book. Lots of action and surprising turns of events. Jake Mahegan is unstoppable. Only minor disappointment in the story is the connection between the plot and Mahegan’s past. It feels a bit artificial. Now proceeding to book #3

great series

I love this series, it can carry on a little too much in some parts but I found that it just builds the suspense that much more... loved books 1 and 2 now on to book 3

Disappointing

The storyline concept was actually pretty good, but execution fell way short of expectations. Some of the dialogue was downright painful to listen to (cue "eye-rolls"). The narrator was above average on much of the base narration, but many of the secondary character voices were terrible and way over-acted.

I've seen this guy's work pop up numerous times on Facebook so I gave him a try. I won't be purchasing the other books in the series.
