Publisher's Summary

One coin for love, one for marriage, one to return to Rome.

Two days ago, Lara Foxleigh tossed three gold euros into the Trevi Fountain. Now, she is caring for a cranky old man and living in a picturesque villa...half a world away from her home and the concerns of her loving family.

Soon, it seems as if those wishes she made in Rome just might be coming true, and she may even be able to help heal a 15-year-old tragedy. Until Lara's past threatens to destroy everything she loves....

Three Gold Coins is a masterfully written celebration of food, family, triumph over adversity, and love - a deliciously imperfect life.

Not too happy to have bought this!

The story was okay but the delivery was appalling. There was so much unnecessary breathing on the part of the narrator, it wasn’t pleasant listening.

A beautiful story

A beautiful story addressing mental health and the problems of abuse. I thought it was sensitive and easy to listen to. Thanks Josephine

I enjoy food related novels

This story touches on a lot of mental health issues, and makes for a interesting listen. I don't like the narrator at all, I find the switch between the characters often messy and confusing. the 5 year Olds do not sound like 5 year Olds! The direction the story took was also somewhat predictable, and the expectation that an Australian should know about the history between Italy and Austria I think is wrong, even though it was such a small part of the story. I did enjoy the interaction with the food, culture and landscape of Italy, and this is the reason why I picked the book to listen to in the first place.

I agree with a previous review.

Too much unnecessary breathing. I found it really irritating so could not even listen to the story. Will avoid books with the same narrator in future.

Great book

I really enjoyed this story, especially being from Brisbane myself. Narration is top notch, interesting and informative storyline. I applaud the inclusion of mental health and sad truth of emotional and physical abuse.

Brilliant!

Accurate and realistic story of domestic violence, narcissism and our family law system. Nice portrayal of mental illness. Lara was fortunate her story had a fairytale ending as very few do. I thoroughly enjoyed the book so much that I listened to the whole thing over a weekend!
