Story
Samson and Beyah have nothing in common on the surface. She comes from a life of poverty and neglect; he comes from a family of wealth and privilege. But one thing they do have in common is that they're both drawn to sad things. Which means they're drawn to each other. Beyah and Samson agree to stay in the shallow end of a summer fling. What Beyah doesn't realize is that a rip current is coming, and it's about to drag her heart out to sea.

Beautiful
This is one of those stories I’ll remember fir a long time. Made me cry in so many places. Minnie COOPER is a remarkable lovable character who has so much growth in this story and never compromises her values to accomplish that growth. I loved it. And I loved Quinn too.

This was such a delightful story. I’m not often a reader of fiction, but this has had me absorbed from beginning to end. Everyone needs a good love story in their life - I’m a convert to fiction thanks to this hearty dose of romance.

I gave up in the end! Minnie seemed so negative and miserable it was difficult to listen to. The narrator didn’t help as she said everything in a down beat manner. The story just wasn’t interesting enough and I gave up with a few hours left to listen because I didn’t want to listen to the narrator anymore and I didn’t care what happened to the characters.

Amazing
I absolutely adored this book by Cousens which was excellently brought to life by Arterton. I was filled with excitement from start to finish, it is almost as if the reader is bursting to tell the characters what is about to happen. The development of said protagonists is fantastic and even background characters have their time to shine.
The ending leaves readers satisfied, however, the reader is left with a longing to hear more about Minnie and Quinn. I can also see this being turned into a movie. (Hopefully!)
This audiobook is for lovers of romantic comedies as it is easy to see yourself in Minnie Cooper. We all want to have a love story designed by fate itself, and this one quite certainly is.
