Publisher's Summary

Thane

I’ve been told I’m beautiful to look at, but I’m a monster all the same. Barely contained. Terrifying now that the thirst is upon me.

I’m a beast king, and that comes with its pros and cons.

Big con: I have to take a bride. It’s built into my DNA. We all reach a point where the drive kicks in.

I thought I still had time. I was wrong. I need to find her. The one.

A vampiress whose blood will quench me. The hunt is on. If I don’t find her soon, I’ll be put down like a rabid dog, leaving my throne to my greatest enemy: my rival by blood. And that can’t happen.

Bellicent

What happens in the dark stays in the dark…or so I thought.

I’m a half-blood. More human than vampire. A weakling. A circus trick only good for being used and abused.

When the vampire king shows interest in me, I tell him where to get off…then I spend the night with him. Don’t judge me! Who wouldn’t leap at the opportunity? He’s the most eligible bachelor on the planet and is known to be picky about who he spends time with.

The king also happens to be my family’s greatest rival. It’s a feud that spans centuries. Think of the Capulets and Montagues, only so much worse.

Last night was a moment of weakness; a night I don’t regret! Thane is more of a beast than I ever imagined.

My brother will pop a vein if he ever finds out what I did. He thinks he can run every aspect of my life, but he’s wrong. I will follow the two rules that have been drummed into me since childhood...and those two rules only! To keep the peace, I’d prefer it if Zale never found out about last night. He’d make my life a living hell.

Then, the king shows up on my doorstep again. Everything I’ve ever known to be true starts to unravel. It all gets turned on its head. I’m not sure who my real enemies are anymore...

Thirst is the first book in a series about monsters of all kinds. If you like enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, sassy heroines, and swoon-worthy beast kings who are almost untamable, then this is the series for you.

Not a fan of the male narrator

Good book and want to buy the series but not if it’s the same male narrator. The female narrator was good.

Terrible male narrator

The male narrator ruined this book for me it’s a shame the story wasn’t bad. Female narrator was great she should have read the whole book I would’ve rate it 5 stars

I wish the male voice was better

This is a perfectly good story and the female voice was wonderful, but...the male voice was monotone and weirdly paced like he was reading from a piece of paper and hadn't practiced how he should say it at all. He also sounded like he was gasping for breath the entire time. It was weird 😕 and really brought me out of the story every time he spoke. Still enjoyed the story though. 🙂

Not the best, and not the worst!

I struggled listening to this book. The female narrator did an amazing job, but the male narrator was horrible. If not for Meg. Price, I would have stopped the book completely and returned it. She did a great job as she read her sections. The story wasn't the best work Charlene Hartnady has written, and over all this wasn't the worst book that I have read either. I'm considering canceling the pre-order on the 2nd book and choosing something else because I'm afraid that Tristan James is going to still be as bad as he was in this one.

Vampire Beast King Finds his Mate, Can He Keep Her

The Beaster Kings at a certain point in their lives must find a compatible mate or go crazy and die. The time has come for Thane
Bell is half human and half vampire..told she can’t marry or have children. Thank and Bell meet, shortlisted afterwards Tjane realized Bell is his mate
There are themes of Romeo and Juliet, keeping blood clean, possible madness, keep supernaturals a secret and secrets kept
The story was fun, entertaining and I enjoyed the story
I loved the female narrator but didn’t care for the male, he didn’t sound right for the part and the female narrator’s male voice was better
All in all a great beginning to a series
This is a favorite paranormal author of mine.

Great story

I love the story and the female narrator but I really didn’t like the male narrator. It’s not his voice but the way he reads the story. It’s like listening to old time radio stories were the narrators were really dramatic. I’ve heard him read other books and it’s the same way with those. Just not my style but otherwise I loved the book.

what is up with this guy's voice?

it's a decent enough book, but this male narrator is... distracting. majorly distracting. I can't take anything he says seriously. he pauses at odd moments, and sometimes sounds like a janky GPS system. And when he narrates sexy times I literally cringe/ laugh out of loud. The female narration is really good, but that makes listening to the male narrator that much worse unfortunately.

Lacking

Narration was on the annoying side. Storyline was also lacking. Don’t think I can read or listen to the rest of this series.

Male narrator sucks

The story is great and the female narrator Meg Price saved this book for me but I won't purchase anymore books narrated by Tristan James.

Great book with great narrators

Great story. At first I wasn't sure I liked Tristan's voice for the narration of Thane but, I found it to be very unique and after a couple of chapters, I was hooked. Meg was also very good with her narration of Bellicent. I have listened to numerous books in the supernatural Romance categories but this is the first time I have come across these two narrators. I keep a list of all the narrators I like and Tristan and Meg will make a great addition. I am getting ready to start the book Ruin. Hope it is a good as Thane
