Third a Kiss

This book is edgy and very dark, it is still sexy and all the feels a good dark romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!

Horrible!!!

I usually like what Pepper Winters writes. There better be a fourth book! Because the ending sucks! If she doesn’t write a fourth book save your money because it is not even worth starting this series!

Not as believable as others

I love PW’s writing and stories - Debt Inheritance is my favorite series. Here, the main plot is great, however, subplots related to Sully’s character traits are odd to me, namely his extreme affinity for animals to the exclusion of humans. His capacity for such deep love is inconsistent with his stunted emotional state. I understand trust issues but this goes to the max degree. Also, at least one of his major decisions seems unreasonable and unlikely under the circumstances.

The narration was great! I would recommend this book for established fans. I encourage new readers to begin with another PW series.

Explosive, breathtaking, heart stopping, primal

NOLA504NERDS BLOG
"This book belongs to romance. The darker and hotter, the better. Without romance, without those butterfly flutters, heart-tripping whispers, skin-flaying touches, life would be boring." (Pepper Winters)

My review for books 2 through 4 are minimal as far as the story line to avoid spoilers. But everything you need is in the synopsis. The books in this series are NOT standalone books. Each has a cliffhanger, and the series must be read in order.

“I’ve been sullied by Sully… in every possible way. Mentally, physically, emotionally.”

Book 3 is more graphic and triggering than book 1. In book 2, you learned more of Sullivan’s past and why he’s become the way he is. Book 3 delves even more into that. Sully believes that everything he loves dies. He believes he is cursed, that he doesn’t deserve Eleanor, and that he would destroy her. Sully is the perfect anti-hero. Eleanor/Jinx is an amazing character. She’s courageous, determined, and exceptionally loving and nurturing. The electricity between them continues to grow. The romance is even hotter than the first 2 books. My jaw dropped, quickly followed by my inhibitions and panties. I was lulled into a false sense of security… until the cliffhanger ending. Gahh!!

This story is spellbinding and full of so much pain and passion. Every sentence and character has a purpose to the story. Pepper Winters is a truly talented storyteller! She is detailed and describes everything with such perfection, it makes it easy to picture the world she has created. I felt dizzy as she took me on new heights of ecstasy, passion, and intrigue… until I finally just gave in to the rapturous raw savagery of this story.

Readers, get ready for a ride that is dark, intense, raw, twisted, exhilarating, exciting, kinky, sexy, dirty, addicting, angsty, explosive, full of internal turmoil, thrilling, and scary in the most scintillating way. A ride that pushes your limits and makes you crave everything that Goddess Isles has to offer.

The narration is done in true Duet style. The flow was nothing short of amazing. Sarah Puckett embodies Eleanor and her tenacity, stubbornness, and spunky attitude. Sully is one of the darkest and most alpha characters I have met. Scott Rider couldn’t be more perfect in portraying him. Scott perfectly delivers Sully’s dark, twisted, and complex character. Sarah and Scott ARE Jinx and Sully. Sarah expertly delivers Eleanor’s anger, lust, desire, and emotional turmoil. Scott expertly delivers Sully’s raw emotions that are full of lust, anger, desire, jealousy, internal turmoil, and hardcore alpha male persona. Their duet narration plays out the story in a very realistic way and makes you love the characters even more. When I’m done with this series, I will definitely be searching for more books by these 2 narrators!

My fav one so far in the series

This is the 3rd installment of the Goddess Isles series and I actually LOVE this book as it peels back the mask of Sully bit by bit simply by the love he is discovering for her. Eleanor/Jinx is such a strong, yet innocent woman who only knows goodness but can’t see the darkness in him or what his past did to him. Onward to book 4....warning that this series is quite stressful....and get you anxious of what is next to happened...Huge cliff hanger!!!

Sigh’ just no…

Big siiiiigh… and 🤬

Female protagonist is supposedly 22. Dumb does not begin to cover it… the only thing she seems to have is her looks and what she can offer between her legs. The name protagonist got on my nerves… for as old as he was and the things he’s been through, he’s ruled by what’s between his legs and wants to call it love? (I would understand better if it was his brother.)

No spoilers here but the book started with promise and I think this is where I get off from these CH series… the stories are elongated for the sake of series? I don’t understand. I usually enjoy Ms. Winters’ books and she does a really good job painting the background down to the trees perfectly and this book was not an exception, I could almost see the beaches and traveled with them to the islands etc. but gosh dang it the characters do not match their back stories and ruined everything… To be fair, there were some really good parts and the steamy parts are good… just wish Eleanor did not talk or “think” too much… may have worked if it was mostly Sullivan’s POV perhaps… just really tired of reading about ditsy but “skinny, small and striking” characters… perhaps a cute Bob hairstyle, glasses (or not), not too “small and skinny” and also smart? Maybe a tall girl once in a great while? Ugh

Narration: They both did a good job with their parts. I liked that “Sullivan” or “Eleanor” would act their parts in each other’s chapters.

I am returning this book, I try not to but It’s not worth it.

Eleanor and Sully 's passionate connection continues.. and this is the best one yet!

I don't know whether it's because it's sunny and I'm in the 5th week of lockdown (due to coronavirus) chilling in the garden whilst listening to this, but I liked it more than the last two. The Eleanor and Sully saga continues and there's a twist which I suspected that is validated in this instalment which I welcomed. We see another side of Sully which is refreshing and vulnerable increasing his likeability. However the ending gives the impression we've made one step forward and now taken four steps back.. sigh! I will read the next instalments.. eventually. It's on my to-do list.. it's not like I'm busy at the moment.
