Publisher's Summary

"Think and Grow Rich" is a motivational personal development and selfhelp audiobook written by Napoleon Hill and inspired by a suggestion from Scottish-American businessman Andrew Carnegie.

While the title implies that this book deals only with how to achieve monetary wealth, the author explains that the philosophy taught in the book can be used to help individuals do or be almost anything they want in this world. For instance, Jim Murray (sportswriter) wrote that "Think and Grow Rich" was credited for Ken Norton's boxing upset of Muhammad Ali in 1973.

The book was first published in 1937 during the Great Depression. At the time of Hill's death in 1970, "Think and Grow Rich" had sold 20 million copies. It remains the biggest seller of Napoleon Hill's books, a perennial bestseller after 70 years (BusinessWeek Magazine's BestSeller List ranked "Think and Grow Rich" as the sixth bestselling paperback business book 70 years after it was first published).

"Think and Grow Rich" is listed in John C. Maxwell's "A Lifetime Must Read Books List".

lots of thought provoking information.

the overall thoughts in this book are great. i like that the research to make this book was information from major historical figures. some of the ideas are a little out there, but for the most part it seems like if you let this book guide you. you can gain what you want in life.

Great reminder of basics

This book is a great “power of positive thinking” type book. It’s writing is dated but still relevant and inspiring. I will listen to several more times. If you like motivational, self help type books, this is a classic.

Very engaging and surprisingly actionable

The book itself is very actionable and I personally found it very engaging.

I also enjoyed the narration as I felt I had a mentor talking me through the topics covered.

Hated It

I'm completely on board with the concepts, but it's so outdated and the narrator's voice is monotonous.

In some parts the book goes way off piste and you wonder what on earth you're listening too.

I gave this a good go but 3/4 of the way through I had to tap out.

A must read.

Have already been through it twice. Do not let the title deceive you. This book is so much more than just a strategy for acquiring riches in your life.

Long winded and boring

I had heard a lot about this book before purchasing it but I must say, I was rather disappointed after spending 10 hours listening to it - I persevered though (ironically). The book underlines 13 key principles for success. It also churns out various other lists - which is difficult to follow on audio (I had to search online and download them to read at my leisure). The narrative underpinning the 13 principles were a little far fetched in places and it did seem to belong in 1930’s. To sum up, the book is unnecessarily long. The takeaways could have been packaged up and a shorter version produced. Now I’m off to make some money!

Good book but...

This version has 182 chapters, each a few minutes long, which aren't named. This makes it really difficult to know where you are in the book, and go to bits you want to listen to again. For this reason I swapped it for another version.

Despite reviews, I don’t believe this book is worth it

I really made the effort to listen as far as I could due to reviews being so high. I absolutely could not get into this book and the stories lead from one to another in an unclear manner.

I have recently finished listening to Robert Kiyosaki whose books seem so much more informative!
