Publisher's Summary

From Washington Post and Amazon Charts bestselling author Mike Omer comes the chilling conclusion to Zoe Bentley’s decades-long nightmare.

A murderer who drinks his victim’s blood? FBI profiler Zoe Bentley and Agent Tatum Gray thought they’d seen it all, but this young woman’s barbaric murder is especially hard to stomach.

They didn’t expect to work this case. But vampirism aside, the murderer’s MO is identical to that of Rod Glover - the serial killer who’s been pursuing Zoe since childhood. Forensics reveals the murder to be his work, but not his alone; desperate to fulfill his sick purpose, he has taken on an equally depraved partner.

Zoe’s own frustration grows after another woman turns up dead and drained - and another goes missing. Time is running out: Zoe knows her own death will be the climax of Glover’s sinister play, which has been unfolding for twenty years. To stop Glover and his vile partner, she’ll need to plunge deep into their motives; but this means drawing ever closer to becoming another casualty of a dark, dark thirst.

Best of the series

Two of my favourite things, a Zoe Bentley story and Brittany Pressley narrating. While I enjoyed In the Darkness I had found it a slight step down from the first book. Thicker than Blood though I feel was the best of the three, it felt like a really well thought out book and it was great to get an ending to the rod glover part. I really hope the series continues, just wish we didn't have to wait so long.

Excellent Procedural * Great Addition to the series...

Because Audible seems intent on withholding my reviews for days I will make this review short and sweet!
This third book in the Zoe Bentley series is a fantastic read. Issues from the previous books are resolved and this ends with Zoe planning a new future. I would suggest listening to this series in order because there is a continuity to the series.
If you have kindle unlimited this book is free to borrow with the kindle edition.
Brittany Pressley does an excellent job narrating.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Thank You.

I love the psychological forensic details & twists

I enjoyed the first 2 books a bit more but this is still a 5 star read! I was engaged the entire time I was kept guessing and didn't expect the twists and turns. I felt like the characters were built up, as usual, in away that you feel like you're along for a ride in their head. I recommend this book as well as the first two in this series. I love Zoey, a strong intelligent socially awkward, but not weak female lead. Tatum balances out the equation well.

Intense

Intense, exhilarating, and clever, I couldn't put it down.Zoe Bentley is amazingly smart and weird, although here she didn't shine like before, she was late and it broke my heart for the women but the story is fierce and raw. I can't wait for the next book, the narrator's voice is exceptional. The story is a roller coaster ride with unexpected twists and turns. Are you ready for the ride? I definitely recommend it,

Horrid Northern Accent.

When the narrator who is the voice of Zoe, it’s like dragging nails down a chalkboard. It’s the worst northern accent ever and it makes Zoe, the lead character, completely unlikable and unlistenable. Very disappointed.

Eh..

I usually like this author and forgot why I dropped this series after Book 1 until I started Book 2 and had to grind through the wretched, inconsistent, incongruous, nails on a blackboard accent the narrator occasionally drags out when the main character speaks. It lends nothing to to the story, and is so bad it’s distracting from the dialogue and the overall story.
The story itself is no better than good, very predictable - and the main character is so weak it’s annoying.

Great Book, Narration Needs Improvement

I love the Zoey Bentley series, and this was an excellent conclusion to it. I especially love Zoey’s odd passion for food and the way Omer weaves this into the most oddly appropriate places in the books.

The one problem I have with this book is the narration—not the acting, but the recording. I actually like the narrator’s voice and acting skills, but I prefer to listen to the book with Alexa due to the the noise gate threshold that cuts the sound in-and-out and gives the narrator a more robotic-sounding voice than Alexa (who surprisingly does a good job, especially with Zoey Bentley). However, most people don’t have as picky ears as mine, so I would encourage prospective listeners to listen to a sample before writing the narrator off completely. As a fellow aspiring narrator, I hope this feedback helps Pressley out and encourages her to make even better audible recordings in the future.

I am sad to see the end of Zoey Bentley, though I must say Omer did an excellent job in this conclusion to his trilogy.

Similarities

I really like this series and like the narrator. The only thing I don’t love is that all three books have followed the same format. Three people get killed or hurt and the last one is the one to get free. It’s all very predictable. I also like that the book isn’t centered around a love story but that’s where it’s trending until the 4th book. Overall I would recommend up to this point but I don’t think I’ll be pursuing the next book.

Expected more

The first 2 books were great and i was really looking forward to the conclusion with the third but it was a bit of a letdown.
I guess i expected more substance.. more suspense.
It just felt like the author didnt take it as seriously as i did.

Nicely rounded off

The conclusion of the trilogy. Sees Zoe & Tatum finally zero in on Glover. The tale builders on the characters of the previous 2 book's with Tatum's grandfather once again adding the humour to a dark tal3. The story rounds off and finishes to a satisfying conclusion & an opportunity for further book's. Aslo once again the narration of Brittany Priestley is exemplary bringing the story and characters to life.

Love Zoe Bentley et al!

I’ve fallen in love with these books! I hope there’s going to be more in the series. The narrator is good too and as the kids would say ‘does the voices’ so you can keep track of the dialogue! Definitely recommend!
