This is the story of Gayle and Martin, who fall in love over the course of ten years- over a yearly visit to a tiny, isolated island off the Welsh coast.
Gayle is a teacher and each year she brings her class to the island to see the local flora and fauna, from sea birds to playful seals. Martin, the island's caretaker and only human resident, lives in and maintains the lighthouse, which opens to the public for just this one day a year.

This was a wonderful listen I enjoyed every moment of it, even the start of chapter 13 I think it is where there’s a 10 second editing fail. I loved it.
David Thorpe always brings David Barrett’s books to life, I seriously recommend listening to all the others narrated by him.
Also any books narrated by him actually. Plus I highly recommend any of barnetts books, I have loved each one. Always make me feel nice about life. Which sometimes we need.
